You guys are losing me in this discussion of drops and promotions in the middle of the draft; complicated enough with 24 clubs....

Turtle is saying that prospect *drops* can happen anytime prior to the prospect draft, as opposed to prospect *promos* which must happen before the FA draft.

I came up with an idea to shorten the draft next year. We still cut down to 20, but we only go up to 28 for the FA draft.

Then, we are not required to make drops for the supplemental draft, which will be 2 rounds and can put us back at 30.

We lose 2 rounds of drafting this way and still hit 30 for our keepers to carry over for next season and it also makes the supplemental draft a bit better. As it stands that draft is almost worthless.

So, we would play one season with 28 players and the second with 30.

It may not be enough, but I think it is better and avoids the confusion of autodrafting.

In other words the draft at this point next season would be done.

Your thoughts?

Hey Guys,

How come I don't get a 10th Round Pick? I dropped 10.

Tim, check the google doc for accuracy. It shows you with 18 hitters and 11 pitchers - so you only have one spot remaining.

I don't have a problem with the draft or the new idea draft.
the time slots is great, the 24 person draft in late rounds is doing better than my 12 person draft. The timeslots makes it easy to prepare and no guilty concionse of holding up the draft if you are too busy to draft.

Hveed, one thing to remember is that you can promote a prospect should you make an unbalanced trade and have a roster spot open because of that trade.

In other words if you like the prospects you're now dropping more than a player on your roster, make an unbalanced trade with the rostered player and add the prospect. I'm guessing that's not the case here.

I'm game. Though, perhaps we could make the exception of allowing prospects to take up those two slots? Or does that open up a can of worms?

Turtle: Wilhelmsen should be on Page2's roster.
