No DH teams

No DH teams

I generally play with a DH. I like the DH. I'm blasphemous that way.

I'll be getting into a no DH league pretty soon and had a couple quick questions.

1. Does a pitcher's hitting rating make much of a difference? Is it something you have to take into account when setting your staff?

2. Does Hal pinch hit a lot? Do you need to have a better bench because of it? Do you need a better bullpen because of it?

3. Any other words of wisdom?

3. Any other words of wisdom? Don't play in non-DH leagues. HAL will screw you.[/color:e15698a866]

1. Does a pitcher's hitting rating make much of a difference? yes, for starters anyway [/color:ecb4ef0b44] Is it something you have to take into account when setting your staff? yes, to a small degree [/color:ecb4ef0b44]

2. Does Hal pinch hit a lot? yes, in close games. and he will pinch-hit for good-hitting pitchers, too. this lessens the value of good hitting pitchers. [/color:ecb4ef0b44] Do you need to have a better bench because of it? no, but a different kind. your bench has to be more offensive and less defensive. [/color:ecb4ef0b44] Do you need a better bullpen because of it? deeper, not necessarily better. pitchers like Murray and Sutter are devalued because HAL will hit for them. [/color:ecb4ef0b44]

3. Any other words of wisdom? No DH leagues are a different. I like both kinds, but it's certainly easier to set up HAL for a DH team. [/color:ecb4ef0b44]
