Griffey

Griffey

Yet another player that I have apparently ruined.
I figured being in Penmar, he could be a decent #6 or #7 hitter.
Thru 48 games he is hitting .138
133 abs vs righties, only 41 vs lefties
Good old Ken is hitting .113 vs the righties and taking advantage of the short RF wall by slugging .241
Last time I use this bum

Which year did you use?

Have been debating taking Griffey for a new team, but now not so sure.

Wonder if anyone has any other takes on him, or whether any of his years are better than others?

The 1994 Griff does pretty good. The combo of speed, range and arm are valuable and he should hit 50+ dingers in Penmar.

Sorry, the curse of DZ ... :)

Using the 97 card here in a 2 team theme. (Yanks/Mariners)

I can't complain too much...

I've used him with decent HR results. 3 different times (2 '97 cards and one '93 card) and all 3 times he hit in the mid 50 HRs, either actual or extrapolated (he wasn't on 2 of them for full seasons).

His BA and OBP weren't close to the #s on his cards, which probably isn't a surprise to anyone. I'm sure his D and strong arm contributed to some wins as well.

I've used the 9.6 mill version lately. In a L bomber park,,I've been quite pleased.

Plus hes a great outfielder, and quick, around the bases. I like this card.
