Not moving as quickly as I had hoped, but given what we've gone through it's not surprising.

We won't be having a clock this weeked - I figure many of you have Memorial Day plans.

And next week we'll run into Cubit's trip to Japan.

This draft looks like it will be real slow going.

If we can get a few rounds in we can probably load up and get started, if not Monday then the following Monday.

I'm thinking of leaving the clock off indefinitely -

We've got a 3-day weekend coming up for most of us, plus Cubit will be doing what Cubit does next week.

I don't want to hold up the draft, yet I don't want to penalize anyone for unavailability, especially because of our sputter here at the start. If we get a couple of rounds in everyone should have a legal team and we can begin the season.

I'm interested in hearing other thoughts

I'm not in any hurry, but I think your estimation that we'll all have legal rosters in a few rounds is off. I know I don't expect I'll have a legal roster in the first 5 rounds. Not to tip my hand, but there's too much talent available in these early rounds, to simply draft to fill out my 25 man roster first. Sorry but putting the 11th guy in my bullpen or drafting my back up catcher is not a priority in the first 5-10 round for me. I'm strictly a BPA in this type draft. As an example, I'd have SERIOUSLY considered Hosmer if he was available at my next pick, despite my seeming glut at 1b. Heck it's not unusual for me to take my last bullpen arms in the final rounds, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who drafts this way. I know for sure hawk does.

FYI - I'm leaving to chair a public meeting and don't expect to be back until roughly 8:00 Eastern.

I'm leaving the clock off, so no skipping.

If someone could ride herd on the draft until I get back I'd appreciate it.

Thank you guys for thinking of me. There had been no movement this morning when I went for my errands-- we were drenched here in NYC with thunderstorms and my dentist et al kept me away from the ole phone, so here I am at last. My "virtual proxy list" was picked clean anyway, but I will try to put a real one together before I head off to Japan next week. As you say, there is a Memorial Day weekend coming up for many, so your approach is proably the most fair.

I'm very sad, though, that I left Nythawk standing in the on deck circle this long!

Normally you are right Bill. That being said, what do i do?Pick 2 lefthanded relief pitchers with my 1st 2 picks  I just couldnt pass up Chapman with my 1st rounder. He has been lights out.Sale, I have liked since he came out of college and love that he is in the starting rotation. My team is pretty set offensively so now its time to work on the pitching staff.
Course it might also have something to do with the fact that I am not yet back to being 100% so maybe I will live to regret passing up on Ackley in the 1st round(Marc you are welcome :) ) and another position player that I really like as well here in round 2 when I do if fact get back to being where I was mentally 2 months ago
