My team chocked like last year's Red Sox.

I need 1 win tonight to clinch a P/O spot. I hold the tie-break over AT so still a decent chance to win the Division.

Splits in the last week did me in.

Unearned runs and 1-10 singles and a 1-8 HR killed us v Big A. Such is SOM in a tough league like the NLD. :( BS, but what are you going to do ?when a guy you pay $5.69 for has a 5+ ERA and goes 12-16? And the Pen improved down the stretch but still sucked overall? Two Die rolls, a 1-8 and a 1-6 did us in. We would have been 2 games up instead of 2 games down with those two changes. :( I'm pissed off because this team should have made the playoffs. But, hey, one more win v Big A would have put us in the playoffs. I guess we we weren't good enougn. <sigh>

Must be nice to be up +9 or plus 12 in one runners in the NLD. :( Haven't done that in a couple of years.

Congrats to the PO teams, especially Smoke who over came a HUGE one run deficit to make the playoffs.

I'm hammered after going to a Giants game with my fraternity so...................

Good luck to the playoff teams. My 8-16 record against the Hawks was my downfall.

My 4th consecutive NLD playoffs ... a new personal best. :)

As for Beltre, he had enough LH bats in the lineup to protect him, and having Kemp certainly didnt hurt. ;)

The Votto acquisition was key ... I needed his OBP more than anything to help table set for Kemp/Ortiz/Beltre ... especially since Ethier proved pretty unreliable, and I was batting B. Ryan 9th (.288 OBP).

I actually went 5-7 against Big Alric so I wont be surprised if he takes the series.

I went 5-7 vs. my buddy Smokey.

Since I graduated from the Lou Holtz school of Coaching, I would like to say I have absolutely no hope against the Thirty, an impressive juggernaut team that is well balanced and well managed.

Congrats to the 4 playoff teams, especially the 2 from my division.

By far my most disappointing NLD season. My team had the best pythag from start to finish, but lost too many close games late. It's tough to repeat in the NLD!

I apologize for my rant last night. I was pretty hammered and very frustrated.

AT, Beltre hit .297 v RHP in a LH park. That's pretty much rollling on his card all season. The LH bat protecting him had nothing to do with it.

The likelyhood of Beltre rolling every die roll on his card seems very improbable to me.

The likelyhood of Beltre facing RH pitchers who had LH ratings like 3L, 4L to face a LH lineup in a sorta LH friendly park - seems much more probable. Or facing a LH specialist left in too long after being put in to face Ortiz/Presley, also seems more probable.

Furthermore, even though Beltre has slightly more hit chances vs RHP than LHP - that hit chance comes to about .260 So not only would Beltre have to get a ton of the rolls vs. RH, they would also have to be rolled on the right part of his card more often than not.

Rather, if Beltre was lucky, it was in that he got enough rolls on RH pitcher cards who were LH strong. A good example being Game 161 vs. B. Morrow of Stoneys Phanatics. Morrow gives up a very nice .316 OAVG against RH Bats. Beltre went 3-4 that game.

But if you wish to believe Beltres success was by rolling 100% on his card, and had nothing to do with where he was in my lineup or what pitchers he faced - feel free. I cannot stop you from being wrong.

8-)
