Has Anyone Heard From Bernie?

Postby bernieh » Tue Jun 05, 2012 2:26 am

Hi guys.

I'm here. I needed recovery time.

I was ready, and I'm still ready. The transition's a hefty weekend task, though, so it's not like I can flip a switch the minute I get home from the hospital. SOM said "indefinitely" because they wanted to make sure I was really ok (which wasn't immediately clear) and because the last thing they want is to announce another date and have to change it again.

We're meeting in a few hours to talk about it.

Sleep.

Thanks for the update, Bernie. I just exhaled.

I'm joining the chorus that voices a transition that is done based on your best intersests, health and otherwise.

We'll be praying for your health Bernie.

Hopefully, I speak for the majority. The transition is secondary to our concerns about how you are doing.

Exactly. My guess is that Bernie put more than enough pressure on himself.

Glad to see you are in recovery Bernie!!!

I seriously was getting nauseated by some of the posts here.... a persons health out-weighs in every regard this site, this game, and all things SOM related. Glad to see some are able to keep that in perspective!

I pretty much read all the things related to the move, the surgery, the postponement, I musta missed the posts where some apparently wanted something other than Bernie's health put first.

I think the nauseating comments were stuff like this: "I have been skeptical about this whole thing for a good while now."

I didn't see any indication that the switch wasn't on schedule all along. Not sure where all of the doubting and negativity came from. The switch will not be without some over seeing and tinkering and the only way to accomplish that is with a 100% Bernie. At a time when Bernie is ill is not a good time to throw doubt at his six months of efforts to make this happen for all of us.

Glad to hear from Bernie that his fatigue isn't F2 anymore and heading in the right direction. :)

Art I hear ya, but beg to disagree. One has nothing to do with the other...sorta like when people don't understand how you can "support the troops" but "be against the war."

I too never thought the transition would be done in time, based on my own experiences like the building of my brand new store this past year (oh boy).

I don't think anyone here woulda been surprised if things went a little sideways for a bit...regardless of this particular health emergency.

But I also don't think anyone was asking Bernie to sacrifice his health to meet a deadline.
