This game rocks and I miss it so much. I watch the results every night as I live on the west coast. I coach my kid almost every night as he plays ball in 2 leagues right now and I still miss this game!
We beat the undefeated team in one of those leagues on Saturday and I let the kids shave my head. It was great but can't wait for this thing to get started up again.
This is the greatest game on Earth!

My wife had some coworkers over for a cookout and some bocce in our back yard. Lots of awkward conversations and boredom while being nice talking about stuff I don't care about. I wish at least one of the people liked baseball so I could have talked about Stratomatic lol.

My first weekend without strat in 11 years.

I noticed things I haven't noticed in years.........like dew on the morning grass, the beautiful sunrise, the chirping birds, and traffic signals.

So, I'm at my wife's retirement party . . .

. . . last Weds night. I'm seated next to the husband of her terrific assistant principal. These two folks are about 20 years younger than us, live in the same neighborhood. Really solid folks.

I get to talking with the guy, and guess what? He's a STRAT FAN!!! So weird and wonderful.

I turned him on to our thing here, and he is going to join.

Sometimes fate smiles on you.

For example, recently I started a second team (I usually only play one at a time). Normally, I do okay. But this time both of my teams stink.

I was not happy about this at all; I like to win (no kidding, right?). But today I realized how much easier this weekend was having two teams that stink.

Isn't fate wonderful sometimes?

Oh come on, I thought someone might pick up on the "traffic signals" line. It's from one of the greatest baseball movies ever (OK, kind of a baseball movie). Anyone want to make a guess?
