Hey Bernie, remember that even the whiners are only complaining because they enjoy the game you provide for us all...

[quote:3cc778e463="latorrer"]A site can only be launched ONCE! Take the time to get it right. It's only a game/hobby to most of us, we should all be able to wait a little longer for a clean launch.[/quote:3cc778e463]

Well-said.

[quote:2e1cc58b02]My problem with "underpromising" is that it feels like a lack of communication, and de-motivational. But ok, at least for today I'm not promising anything. [/quote:2e1cc58b02]

BUT

Postby nevdully's » Tue Jun 12, 2012 9:46 am

To rewind on this subject....You coulda told us it would be rolled out on Wed. when privately thinking and shooting for Monday, keeping this top secret, under wraps, in ur back pocket, and up ur sleeve.

And as for communication or concern of the lack of, you coulda communicated with us every 10 minutes saying "Wednesday" "Wednesday" "Wednesday"

It ain't hard ;)

[quote:12344ff076="bernieh"]Today I feel much more comfortable about the prospect of launching "soon".

In the effort to manage expectations, I won't say how soon that is. But I will have an informational update for you at noon ET at the latest.

My problem with "underpromising" is that it feels like a lack of communication, and de-motivational. But ok, at least for today I'm not [i:12344ff076]promising[/i:12344ff076] anything.[/quote:12344ff076]

I appreciate all of the communication Bernie. Part of being virtually anonymous on the Interwebs means people complain where they might not IRL. These things take time and often need to be pushed back; no sweat. I'd much prefer another week of no SOM, than to start playing with major glitches.

Good luck in the build.

Update

Here's my 12pm update!

Doing plenty of testing now. By 3pm, I'll be able to give you an ETA for official launch.

Bernie,
Thanks for your hard work, but I'll suggest that you NOT give an ETA...maybe just a "I'm still working on it" until you actually roll the thing out.

just a suggestion.

getting it right is the easiest way to please.
