NLD 13 Draft thread

Anybody out there know how to throw a slider? If so, you might get drafted, there's not much pitching left.

I kept on passing on Counsell as he slid and slid until I passed him right of the draft to Hawkeye. I'm "Dumas" material!

My Equipment Manager is on the phone right now trying to line up a deal where all my infielders will use specially designed, super-sized (think clown-like big) gigantic, three feet in circumference gloves to try and knock the ball down.

We'll worry about the throwing part later. On to Wineman and Joe. :)

I take it that Mr. Watson shall turn out to be AT's ballpark?

Alright, I'm off 'til probably 11pm. I've got my Marketing class tonight  .

I have 4 proxies for each of the next 2 rounds should it get back to me. Hopefully you all won't take all eight of these guys.

Hey, I wanted Watson! :D

And, I still have proxies leftover from this morning. I put a few more into the system to ride me out for the night.

I may have time to check late this evening. If I run out, JoeJet has my e-mail address.

Cliff Lee?

Postby Semper Gumby » Thu Mar 30, 2006 9:33 pm

I thought I had Cliff listed on my proxy as a "[b:4d8c0cf276]drop if group picked[/b:4d8c0cf276]" once I picked Haren.

Nonetheless, I wonder if he could be the 2005 version of Dubose (2003).

Heck, Cliff went 18-5 last year for my beloved Indians, and for under $3m - he might be worth the flier.

Of course, ain't much left for day-to-day starting pitchers if you didn't have two solid ones on your draft card. Notwithstanding the $100m funding, you might be [color=red:4d8c0cf276]f*cked [/color:4d8c0cf276]if you don't have a few *s in your bullpen.

After Wakefield, you drop a cool $1m into the bargain bin. :(
