With the season starting tomorrow, I wanted to repost the key rules of the league. Since we cannot drop players after game 142, we will not follow the roster expansion section noted in the original post, rosters will not be expanded replicating the September 1st call up. Here's a summary of the key rules....
Player usage:
[b:08e67cfae3]Roster size[/b:08e67cfae3]: Rosters must be maintained at 25 players. Teams cannot carry 26, 27 or 28 players on an active roster until completion game 138. (Further explained below) Also, rosters cannot be less then 25 players. You must have 25 players on your roster at all times. There will be a disabled list which will be explained shortly.
[b:08e67cfae3]Hitters:[/b:08e67cfae3] Usage will be limited to the players 5 year average of plate appearances (hits plus walks) plus an additional 10%.
[b:08e67cfae3]Pitchers:[/b:08e67cfae3] Usage will be limited to the players 5 year average of innings pitched plus an additional 10%.
Once a player exceeds the 110% of their plate appearances or innings pitched, they must be dropped and a replacement player selected. If players are dropped or traded, their usage does not reset. Once a player has used up their allotted at bats/innings pitched, they cannot be used by anyone in the league.
[b:08e67cfae3]Disabled list:[/b:08e67cfae3] To assist each manager in ensuring player usage remains within usage requirements, each manager can place up to 2 players on their disabled list at any one time. This will be accomplished by announcing your intention to place a player on the disabled list via sending an e-mail to all members of the league. Please send an e-mail to the league members prior to making your roster move. When a player is placed on the DL, he remains the property of the original owner. Remember that you will still be responsible for the financial impact associated with this transaction. This option will be available to the owners until game 139. Players placed on the DL must remain there for at least 4 series (12 games). After 12 games, the manager must reclaim their players prior to the next night’s games. If a player is not returned to the active roster, he can be picked up by any owner. Failure to restore the player to the roster after exposes him to all other league owners. Example: Player A is placed on the DL after game 3. He sits out the next 4 series-it is now the night/morning of games 16,17 and 18. If Player A is not placed back on the roster of the original owner, any team can pick up the player at the conclusion of game 18.
