Trade Carew. Not good fit for you park. I know you want someone to get on base to be HRd in but Carew is not the guy. There are lots of 1Bs you can pick up with high OBP and power. Carew can't field or run. HE just hits singles (granted, lots of them)

Phelps is a good replacement 1B late in season but too expensive for DH. Look for Kemp, Zisk, Incaviglia, Lonnie Smith etc... for DH (hopefullly one of your .75 guys has its good year and can be used to DH)

At 3B, are Horner, Hojo, Bonilla or Harrah available? Don't be afraid of using a 4 at 3B. Jacoby is not bad but I have seldom seen anyone play him.

I would consider trading Butler if you can get Davis, Kirby, Murphy, Dawson or even Gormon.

Fisk/Tettleton, Carew and Butler are very good and could be traded to someone in a pitcher park for some HR studs or pitchers.

For the 80s game, I think the BP factor re: pitchers is a little overrated. If you get a pitcher's good card, he'll do well in any park. Plus, the fact that a guy like Hoyt has a lot of BPHRs overall, doesn't mean he has a lot on his "good" seasons. For example, in 1985, Lamarr's #s were 3.47/1.09. Against RH, he has 1 BPHR chance (6/12) and against LH, he has 3 chances (6/11 and 6/12). Not bad.

In my last completed season, he went 24-10 in Wrigley with 4.45/1.43. I had his 1985 card.

In a season that's ending tonight, I have Lamarr in Jack Murphy and he's 16-12 with 4.45/1.13 despite giving up 53 HRs. I don't think you can safely categorize pitchers into HR vs. not HR in the 80s - it's not ATG.

I like Jacoby, he has carried my team in the past and in a variety of parks hit 20 to 30 dingers. Plus, facing lefties or righties he's consistent.
None of the CFs you mentioned are available. However, without Carew or Butler I have no-one to set the table.
I'm looking for
The idea behind Phelps, Tettleton and Fisk is to see which two perform for me. If one doesn't I can pull the plug. If all three do, what a pleasant problem. I am concerned about Phelps, I have never had luck with him.
However, with first Kingdom team, I went for the best OPS guys I could find.
Frankly, right now I think my biggest question mark is at SS. I've never had any luck with Larkin and if I get my typical Larkin performance, I'll have cash when I pull the plug and turn to Dejesus.

Pulled the trigger on a deal and now have Cooper and Moseby instead of Carew and Moseby.

Jack Clark might seem strange for batting second but I think your offense is that good. Clark usually walks, Ks or HRs so at least he wont hit into that many Double Plays.

What other non *SPs are available? since you are going with a 5man rotation anyway....
