NLD 13 Draft thread

Postby Semper Gumby » Fri Mar 31, 2006 12:05 pm

We have slowed to a crawl.

Perhaps it is time for some analysis from the peanut gallery?

I am a little surprised to see Watson go so early. I had him as a deep bargain on my Notes pad but not sure if he can be an everyday player but I hear is a leader in the club house. Maybe Joe's ratings had him higher.

Otherwise, I know Manny Ramirez will become a head case and will seek a trade to another club before the season is out. After is tour in Cleveland, Manny hasn't been the same. I sense he wants to come back and play his last golden years under Bill Veech!

I spoke to Pedro last night and he is ready this year. He says with Peavy and Prior tossing this year .... the Cleveland crew will tattoo a few laces on a couple of batters. If I see Ortiz start to crowd the plate, I won't think twice of calling for the cheese.

In other news, Victor Martinez hit a few nice shots to leftfield during batting practice.

Jeep,
Guess I really stumped you,
Blame, wineman. I was gonna hold off on another reliever until next round, but, when he took Linebrink it left me with basically just Gonzalez, so I figured I'd better grab him. He'll also match up well against Wineman's team, not the least of considerations, considering he's in my division.

Semp,

Like my team so far

R Jeter SS
L Dunn ???
R Cabrera ??? (likely 3b)
L Jenkins RF
R Konerko 1b
L Kotsay CF
???
???
R Iguchi 2b

Need to get Zambrano and Benoit some starting help

but I like my pen so far

Wise
Gonzalez
Turnbow

Course I feel like I'm flying blind this year as I did not get the ratings book and am just going off the cards

Agonized over those 2 picks, still needed OBP at the top and wanted to grab a reliever. I'll use Lidge as a regular RP, figure I can get a couple of good R1's as opposed to an R2 with this being a 100M league. :)

Semper,

Nice post. To be sure, Ortiz is not afraid. He's already pointing to the CF bleachers! :D

Only a couple of times, Joe.

And as I've said to you before, your ratings to me are just numbers. No offense, I'm just to stupid to get it.

Oh and one other thing you charge foir the ratings, the same reason I didn't get the book from strat-o this year. :D
