I am trying to reprise the GO-GO Sox. All speed and hopefully strong pitching. I think I went with three starting pitchers as one, two, three. I've never tried that one before.

Well, after looking at the results of a draft that gave me exactly 10 of the 25 players I tried to draft (and 8 million in unexpended cash before anyone has been released--I missed some of my guys by a mile!) I'm giving new lyrics to Jimmy_C's immortal "Hal's Way"

And now the time has come
when I must curse the team I've draaaafted,
admit that I have learned
just how completely I was shaaaafted
The bums... I somehow got
will soon be found along the highwaaaaay
The record shows, I'll take the blows
Cuz I did it Hal's waaaay

Somehow I didn't even get the #1 waiver priority. Could another team have really done worse?
:(

And soon the time will come
when I must pick up all the pieeeeces
And try to find a way
through pickups, waivers and releeeases
To somehow make a team
Of all the bumblers who came my waaaaay
The records shows my team sure blows
Cuz I did it Hal's waaaay

Yeah Outta...Nice lyrics...you have a future man!! I really earned the number 1 pick in waivers. I didn't think it possible to get only 8 of the guys you drafted. All I am left to say about my team is...

" The horror.....the horror"

Amen, brother! Could it be we have another English major here? Perhaps we should consider becoming a lyric-writing team if our Stratomatic careers end in defeat.

Still, I take heart from the fact that my better teams have tended to emerge from my worst drafts, the ones that have me walking around mumbling to myself. Here's hoping that happens again.

Bonehead Error

Postby LMBombers » Tue Sep 20, 2005 2:00 pm

Seconds after agreeing to a trade of Kevin Bass for Don Baylor I realized that this is a non-DH league. After I picked my jaw off of the ground I offered a reverse of the trade to Rooks. Hopefully he understands and is willing to trade back. Rooks, please help out ol' LM Bombers. I feel so stupid right now.

Thanks for not nailing me to the wall for making a bonehead mistake. There is honor among SOM players at least with Rooks in my book! :D
