Our historical single season sets

>>I also rated the only 2 SP only under 1 mil (there is only 2!!) as my 9th and 10th <<

well, there are 2 guys I missed out on, I had them around 12,13.

I skipped Reggie and Cleon figuring they would be a lot of people's top picks. I went Belanger and Javier up the middle, with Reggie Smith in CF.

Aaron was my #1

I had Bob Gibson up in my top 5. But, to confirm my continuing descent to insanity, I had Carl Taylor #1 on my list.

Because its new and alot of players ,who knows what going to happens . The ballpark ratings were way off kilter compared to ATGII . Which again made it hard to figure out who to get .

the ballparks should make things interesting, I like the variety. I took one where the rh HR was high, I think it was Sisk, or something like that.

Seaver and Osteen were my top two SP picks.

one thing I noticed was you pay a price for obp. There are no lead off guys (45+ ob with speed) under 5 mil. It really makes it hard to have a cheap lead off hitter

I'll probably end up missing most of the sp's I wanted... but I figured since there are so many more, why waste high picks on them

I'm with you Mark. Nothing like flying blind for season #1.

I went with Marichal and McCovey just because they are my favs. I had Millan high but it looks like I wont get him. I placed Carty pretty high. He looks like a good #3 in front of McCovey to me. Roseboro and Rodriguez looked like a good cheap catcher platoon. Odom, Perry and Peterson rounded out my SP.

I went for a power park and picked Petrocelli 1st. It's hazy after that, but I know I went for Osteen & Carlton, Santo at 3rd and Yaz (who I won't get).

Man, the pricing structure is different. All the offense is about 60% more expensive. Tommie Agee is 3.5 Mil more expensive in this game than for the same year in ATG II, and t's strange to see Pete Rose at 10+ Mil. Pitching is more expensive too, but by a much lower factor. We're going to be firlding weaker teams all around.

Santo, Yaz, and Torre seem popular so far, wonder if that will bear out once a lot of leagues start.

Well, I would hope so. In my mind that's kind of the selling point of this game. You will not be able to field ALL Star teams. It's like a 60M league with fewer choices.

They really had to raise the prices to make things relative. Agee is one of the best players in this set. In ATG he is often on the FA list.

One thing I'm afraid of in this game is a lousy autodraft and you could be hard pressed to fix it. It might be best as a live draft league.

Anyway-- I didn't get in this one--so good luck all. I'm going to have a team in tonight.
