New league forming-Usage limit, unique stadiums and more

Our Mystery Card games - The '70s Game, Back to the '80s, Back to the '90s

Prognostication corner....

Postby JOSEPHBONK » Mon Apr 03, 2006 4:27 pm

Part of the fun of the baseball season is to make predictions and then see how they compare to the final standings. With that in mind, if you'd like to make your predictions and post them, we can see who amongst us has the clearest crystal ball. To keep things orderly, one point will be earned for each correct finish in the division. In addition, if you get the division winner correct, that will be worth three points (as will correctly predicting the wildcard winner.) for each correct prediction. If you get the World Series teams correct, that will earn you 4 points for each. The World Series winner will earn you 6 points.

No prizes other than the satisfacation of knowing that your know your usage limits league stuff. That, of course, is reward enough. 8)

Post before game time tonight if you wish........

East
Brooklyn Cellar Dwellers may be a scoring dream or a pitching nightmare
Fenway Well Used Parts May not get the clutch hits
Perennial Long Shots needs 100% from Freddie
Hootersville Racing Monkeys don't think the runs are there

Central
Two Dot Mt. Twinkies looks solid on paper
Kansas City IronMen great looking rotation
YountFan's Overused Ideas where are your lefty Tiger Stadium sticks?
Screaming For Vengeance plays better on the road

West
High Plains Drifters Solid, if fourth starter gels, will be tough
What no Hitters what pitching, may struggle to score even in the Murph
Catchers in the Rye needs the big guns fully loaded
OldTown OldGeezers Good hitting, clutch key, pitching iffy, if I don't win the division, I won't even be close.

Wild Card IronMen
Finals Dwellers over IronMen in 6

My boys have been underperforming lately and probably the only thing worse than my managing will be my predicting. Every division looks unbelievably tight, and much will be revealed by the dice. An argument could be made for everyteam to go the distance.

Like (or something like) Bum Phillips used to say, I think I am the only manager who can take mine and lose to yours and then take yours and lose to mine.

I had to take my team to make the finals even though I've never done well in a pitcher's park. This is before I make my final pre-season move which may clinch the finals for me. So I could be wrong. :)

Kansas City Ironmen-Will score runs with Brett and Hernandez
YountFan Overused Ideas-Grizzled vet at helm....dont' bet against him..
Two Dot Twinkies-Solid keystone-tough division
