Hey Fellow SOM Managers
Could you take the time to comment on this team? My division has Bennett, Dunn, and Forbes, hitting leaning RH and pitching pretty even

Your relief pitching is fine.

Your starting pitching on the other hand leaves something to be desired for a Polo team. Ruether is fine, I could do without the rest. Drucke and Faber are passable. Bagby, Vuck, Cvengros, Speer, Vance, Frock, Lea, Miller, Yerkes are all upgrades.

I like your lineup also. Good mix of power, OBP and defense.

Looks like a pretty solid club to me.

Here are your numbers:

OBP vs RH 0.416
SLG vs RH 0.487
OPS vs RH 0.904
HR Rate vs RH 4.4
BPHR vs RH 53
OBP vs LH 0.421
SLG vs LH 0.525
OPS vs LH 0.946
HR Rate vs LH 4.8
BPHR vs LH 50

Suggest:

Humps for Fryman +1.8
Brett for Ripper
Keller for Rickey -1.6

Try to scrounge enough to get Giusti for Russell. maybe Lea for Loes?

Your new lineup numbers:

OBP vs RH 0.439
SLG vs RH 0.518
OPS vs RH 0.957
HR Rate vs RH 4.3
BPHR vs RH 48
OBP vs LH 0.422
SLG vs LH 0.507
OPS vs LH 0.929
HR Rate vs LH 4.6
BPHR vs LH 48

Based upon
Dickey
Brett
Gordon
Eddie
Pesky
Keller
Mays
Furillo

Also consider Ennis for Furillo for cash. This lineup smashes RHs, you want the pitching teams to pay for pitching Boyd and Drysdale types against you, and Brett can hit the Pete, 3FB types. If your opponents start moving to LHs, great, Mays and Ennis will rock. You can then tweak on Monday to Foxx at 1B if the ratio is 7/5 or 6/6 RH/LH SPs. Lollar at C and a LF upgrade are also possible if that scenario holds.

I always like the idea of using Rickey Henderson in boomer parks, but then chicken out. I love Brett, but he is even more vulnerable than Rickey.

Going from memory, I'm certain taht Brett and Rickey have the exact same chance of injury.

I guess I meant vulnerable in the sense of LH RH pitching impact

I had been wanting to use Ricky for awhile now, but every time I had him I ended up dropping him before the season started. I finally stuck to my guns and used him in the Baker Bowl. He had to hit 1/2 since my 3,4,5 guys were set in stone (Mays, Hornsby, and Aaron). He played in every single game. Here is the team:

Ricky can hit, especially in a HR park, here he is at Huntington on a letter theme league.

That said, the team with Keller and Brett has better balance IMHO. With Mays and Ennis, let them pitch LHs to slow down Brett. Watch the SP count in your division, see where it ends up, you have plenty of time to tweak at catcher, 1B, RF or LF to get the right combo.

Best of luck, sschu
