God knows

Postby CHRISTIANSTOUGH » Tue Apr 04, 2006 11:38 pm

how i get the link right; I guess I'll do it the old fashioned way....

C-Battery
1B-Brett
2B-Doyle
SS-Wagner
3B-Boggs
RF-Gwynn
CF-Snodgrass
LF-Coleman

UT-Oquendo

Starters
D. Dean
C. Hunter
D. Drysdale("it's outta here")
J. Perry
J. McAndrew
D. Leonard
B. Pierce

Relievers
Hall
Miller
and whomever I choose from above list
I want to keep 'em guessing about my starter and also give Drysdale and Dean (and McAndrew,Perry, and Pierce) bullpen work from time to time.

Am I insane or does this team rock?

I know it's not as subtle as your guys lineups, but havent had the time(2 years or so) to learn the cards yet

To get a link go to the team statistics page and then click on your team in the list there. It will then have an id # at the end of the url.

Oh, my. where to start?

First and most obvious thing- your pitchers are going to hate you, no matter who they are. Even with a rotation of Pete, Brown, Pfeister and Camnitz, you would give up a bunch of runs because your defense is atrocious. Doyle has no business being on any roster unless he's a DH or you don't care about winning, just offensive stats. You have Brett, why play him at 1B? Dump Boggs, put Brett where he belongs and get another 1B.

You need to get rid of Oquendo, he's wasted $$. Upgrade Coleman or get a better CF and move Snoddy to LF. Or best, upgrade your pitching staff. You're going to give a bunch of runs, and I don't think you have the forepower to make up for it.

Hope I don't seem too harsh, but I think that team needs a LOT of work, sorry I don't have time to be more helpful, :) but I hope this is of some use.

your infield is good for over 100 errors and is only capped there because Doyle won't get to most grounders that a typical college 2b would. You will probably turn about 70 infield dps....(I learned this from a Lowenstein experiment with my first team a 4-40 he booted everything and was almost leading the league in errors as part of 2b platoon)

You need a solid backup for Wagner because he likes to get extended injuries. Who is gonna hit hrs for this team? I concur re: Brett - move him to 3rd - drop Boggs, get a power hitting of and 1b and find a 2b who will at least get to a gb.

Drysdale is always a scarey pick should play well at home and die on the road - but with your d as is - it could be ugly...
(note - I'm a novice - but an observant one - (almost) anybody can jump up and have a great season - or a poor one
I have had some success trying a balanced approach and going for strong D - especially up the middle in pitcher leaning parks

I agree

I agree you definitely need good defense up the middle. I have had good pitching teams, but lost because of the defense. I had Boggs and he seemed to do OK. Actually, batted him lead-off.
