There were some good 'uns nominated last week for Game of the Week #2, including a 4-homer game by Tony Clark and Aaron Small picking up his 7th win in only the 36th game of the season... but this game impressed me so much that I had to honor it even though we already had a no-hitter for GotW #1. Oh yeah, I'm a Brewers fan too.

Doug Davis (who tied for 3rd in the NL in strikeouts in 2005) of the Zonaz Wildfirez was dominant in throwing a perfect game over the Brooklyn Wonders, striking out 10. What impressed me so much about it, besides the fact that Davis is no Johan Santana, is that he did it against a stacked lineup that included Vladimir Guerrero, 2005 batting champ Michael Young, Ken Griffey Jr., Andruw Jones and Chase Utley. A once-in-a-lifetime game to be sure.
