I think it's because the pitching...

and the parks are very tough...You know what they say about good pitching...If you add multi colored shirts, red miniskirts, Bo Derek corn rows w/ beads and have a 95+MPH fastball with movement, a killer slider and fruit flying from your hat - It has got to be hard to hit.  R

Between Training for a new...

Postby ROBERTVOZZA » Thu Apr 06, 2006 2:23 am

60Hr a week job/business and transiting out of my other job, 5 active teams and a couple of credits, I have barely given time to ANY of them...Especially my last 2 05' teams.

Learning the new cards takes me awhile and I tend to lose my previous season time priority, if not become downright confused about who is plaing in what year...My hat is definitely off to players who can carry a ton of teams. I can barely walk and chew gum right now, i am so mentally exhausted.

Coming back in the last LOTO League and sweeping the playoffs with all those shutouts was without a doubt the highlight of my 4 year SOM/TSN Career...To say I have experienced a letdown would be very understated.
I had so much fun watching that team comeback and really put a lot of energy into it for a game. But it was just so personally satisfying(AND FUN) that I don't know how any other team I have could ever top that SOM Experience.

That out of the way, I am definitely enjoying learning the new set and setting the new leagues and the 48 Team LOTO Tournament up inmy tiny bit of sparetime.

this new group of players, combined with the former LOTO crew has perhaps caused me to pull back a little bit and really enjoy the company of a great group of likeminded competitors in the community and not feel so compulsive about playing with as many teams this year outside of the LOTO group.

For quite some time I have considered hosting some kind of get together here in Phoenix or maybe Las Vegas consisting of as many LOTO Players as possible. A long weekend Thurs Nite til Monday Morning or something like that. I always thought It would ideally be during Cactus League if in Phoenix or basically anytime in LV. But real life got in the waythe past year and a half with my Mom being sick and passing and several trips to the East Coast. But now we are finally getting out of a 2 yr long funk and redefining our personal goals.

SOM/TSN may only be a small part of the picture aside from LOTO and the JaserD Tour. I have a 2nd teenager commencing College in the Fall and my little one begins Kindergarten...So my plate is once again going to be pretty full.

Whoa, this is getting long...Sorry fellas'...More late tomorrow. Robert

SWP - first of all, you are one long winded stratgeek.

Now, class has begun. One in college (or two) and one in kindergarden? Robert, GO SEE SOMEONE ABOUT THAT PROBLEM. There is a cure for the kids thing. No, the stork does NOT bring them and they did not just show up in the cabbage patch. Go get that looked at.

Second, I agree. So far, this has been a good group of players and guys. Looking forward to staying with LOTO, JaserD and the Tour. Bored with autoleagues (not that I do well, actually I have a better winning percentage in vet leagues (go figure)). Just more fun in vet leagues and especially the ones with good players and some bantor mixed in. So, you keep on writing books SWP, noone will make fun of anyone for touchy/feely stuff being said on here....lol.

Ditto on the Vet league stuff. My experience with ADs is a bit iffy, some have been cool due to the prescence of some cool smart strat-heads (the first league I had with Big was an AD, same with abner) but in general I find it a bit smookey-chum-cum to have a team or two just dropping players like dirty socks and/or not making any adjustments, even when key guys go down for 15 games
In vet leagues, I get a good beating but at least it comes from the jedi masters as opposed to me beating on the young padowans...even though lately even the padowans have had my number  and just for fun let me roll again...

O.k. now I feel better. Besides, in AD leagues I never get to see Randy Johnson looking like Bo Derek

Cummings - I want a pic of RJ looking like Bo Derek. Bo in the 80's, omg. Was she hot or what?

I remember one dream that involved Bo, me, a pony, and a midget...OOPS! Ummm...nevermind.

Just in between hats on break...

Postby ROBERTVOZZA » Thu Apr 06, 2006 8:06 pm

I think we need to bring Jay up to speed on some of the inside jokes here, Chuck...Not everyone was in that initial Vets/Rooks league - where the Cha' Chas were born out of a funny line from "Bruce Almighty" and several of us improvised an entire scenario of a new brand of baseball marketing - Way too many details to capsulize...

But I still think the image of 6'10" Randy Johnson in a miniskirt, tights, high heels and a Hawaiian Shirt with a Carmen Miranda basket on his head with bananas and pineapples flying as he delivers a 95 MPH fastball or a bottom dropout slider and Bo Derek beads is one of the most outrageous images I have ever created...But maybe someone else can fill him in a little better...  R
