I notice the discussion on the draft format we are using, and how the change has preety much shook up the league. There is one thing for sure and that is that we have been consistantly inconsistant in the formats we have used to continue this "Glorious Experiment" (Tim Orz I believe).
Personaly I believe that the composition of this league is so strong tht it will survive this disorder in the short run, and if the short run is all we are interested in the experiment can and will be a success (obviously as we head into the 4th season).
However what about the future? I had mentioned several times before when we were constructing the league that a more long sighted approach would perhaps be better, and I would repeat that plea now. We have a strong league with some of the nicest, consistent, and talented players I have ran into in this game. When you have something like that going on it is best to do whatever is needed to preserve it. What I believe is needed is basicly to determine a certain level of commitment from the individual owners, codify the rules and regulations that govern the draft, establish a mechanism for regeneration of talent into the draft pool, elect officers and establish responsibilities, in essence to incorporate the league! At least to the extent that the owners are willing to commit to.
I certainly am not dissing anyone, and personaly am very gratefull for the effort that Palanion has went to to hold this league together for this long! That in itself is an amazing task! It has been a tiresome and sometime turbulent road that he has traveled to get us to this point! And it is at this point (I believe) that we need to consider the future, or at least generate a level of discussion that looks into that direction!
Many thanks for your consideration!
