Has anyone used Rube Marquard?

What's the success rating on Marquard? Is he worth $7.88M on
a rotation at Griffth with Mclain/Clemens?

I've only used him once in ATGII--it was in Griffith--and he was 13-19 with a 3.33 ERA and 1.32 WHIP.

I don't think you see him used much because there are equally good options for less $$...Dean, Hughson, Seaver, Pollet, leifeld, ford, etc....

But is he good?? Yes, has a nice card.....

I have not used him in atg2....

He is OK, Pollet, Koosman are better

Used him here on my fifth team in ATGII. Didn't use him again for over 200 teams. He actually did OK with the ERA but I was disappointed with his record and just avoided him thereafter.

To illustrate the power of first impressions, this was the first time I used Merkle also. Didn't touch him again for the next 225 teams.

I liked this team because of what I thought was a clever platoon. Gardner and Alou. Rose played left field vs righties and 3b vs lefties. Also wanted to try an all lefty starting staff.

In real life he was anything but a Rube. Good man.
