In Oakland. Maybe too much power already?

A.Davis and A. Oliver also available.

Hargrove.

Durham is waste of money, imo. (Been there many times, done that many times, won't do it anymore.)

Toisan, Check out my team with Durham and tell me if he is a waste of money. :D

I believe he could be in the record books for most doubles in a season before this season is over.

Durham is a bargain with his .863 avg OPS at 4.2M IMO.

That being said......I like Hargrove on your Oakland team.

Al Davis can be very good. He has good OBP, if not at the Hargrove level, and I dont think you can have too much power, even in Oakland. But of course, that's just one possible option.

I've never tried Hargrove, but it's hard to argue with the OBP. I have generally wanted more power out of a 1B, but an experience with a current Royals team where Carew is just pounding the ball (in one of his regular years, not monster 77 season) has made me start to rethink the idea a bit. As long as you're getting strong offensive contribution, you don't necessarily need power from 1b.

Overall , the team looks VERY good, by the way!

re: Durham. I see your good year and raise you two crappy years:

To be fair, he did pick it up in the playoffs in one league.

Durham's .900 OPS year in Wrigley? Doesn't matter...

All Durham's cards look like they'd be effective, especially in a hitter's park. I'm using him in one league) for the first time. He has 3 HR's in 6 games (but it's damned early).

I'm gonna say Joyner.

Almost indestructable, not as severe as Hargrove. Defense a bonus. Not murdered by the BPHR and can do well on the road.

Leon has been in a big slump since I made this post. The Strato Gods are evil.

I should never have bragged about one of my players! :(

Tried Joyner once, cut him.
Haven't used Durham, but have had good results from Hargrove but only as a platoon player.
