Gulf League ($100 Million 2006, i.e. 2005 stats) Needs Two More Teams

To allow those residents of the Gulf of Mexico region who missed last fall’s major league baseball due to the area’s hurricanes, the Gulf League is forming to bring them a fine online computerized baseball dice game! (Example team name: Jamaica Mistake, to be managed by Bob Marley’s Ghost.)

We need two more teams. Sign up on the “Calling all Iron League, Avocado League, Justice League, etc.” thread.

It will be a $100 million league using the DH rule.

We will do 14 (or 16, there’s still some discussion going on) live draft rounds on Penngray’s site. This will include 13 (or 15) players and A UNIQUE STADIUM.

We are aiming to start this coming week.

Many members of the league have been playing TSN SOM during the past three years in the Avocado, Guacamole, Tortilla, Deep Dish, Justice, David Justice, Iron Chefs, Iron Curtain, and Iron Range leagues. We especially welcome former members of those leagues, but are open for newcomers who are interested in joining others who usually have lots of fun with the league message boards.

Choose a state with a Pick 3 number: http://www.usatoday.com/news/lottery/lotto.htm.

If not specified, default pick three lottery is mid-day. (We will take the first three numbers in the Massachusetts numbers game for pjredsoxfan).

I have arbitraily assigned California Daily 3 Mid-Day to bkoron since he did not pick and that is where he lives.

Draft order goes lowest number to highest number, then snakes back.

We will use Penngray's site (http://www.fantasysportstools.com/).

Divisions are decided by reversing the three numbers. The lowest four numbers will be in the East, the middle four in the Central, and the highest four in the West.

I'm back in the country and raring to go....Here's the rundown:

16 ROUND LIVE SNAKE DRAFT ON PENNGRAY'S SITE -- If you're not registered on the site, you need to contact him, I think. Your name is your name on this page, I think. Somebody who knows better than I should fill in the facts.

SIX HOUR TIME LIMIT BETWEEN PICKS -- I'm not thrilled with this, but I'm glad we've got a dozen players, so I won't be b!tchy.

MIXED LEAGUE -- AL and NL Players can both be drafted.

DH LEAGUE -- The Designated Hitter will be Used

$100 SALARY CAP -- It'll be studs all around.

THE GULF LEAGUE -- Though my ad agency was recently hired by ExxonMobil, I guess we can keep the Gulf name. Pick an appropriate team name.

Did I miss anything? Lotsa newbies here, and I miss Curt and The Colonel especially, but I still feel warm welcomes for our new players. May the best team win, unless it's not me!

this is where i'm confused. do we have a user id and password for a live draft at www.fantasysportstools.com? And what is the deal with the pick 3 lotto. i understand it is designed for a random draft order, but do we each need to do something? please advise. thanks.

Somebody will check the Monday lotto numbers tomorrow night or Tuesday morning. (I will, but others may take the lead if they are so inclined.)

I have not created a league before on PennGray's site, but I have e-mailed PennGray to get permission. I might not be the best administrator, since I won't have access to his site during the day, but I hope we don't have any problems.

I'll enter you into the league as "AcuraRL" and I believe that is your initial password. (You can change it once you get in.)
