Mark Ellis

This has to be one of the most overpriced cards in 2006. I took a chance on him in one league and he sucks so far. I've seen him stinking it up for other managers as well.

Is anyone having luck with his card?

Got him in bank one on a 2nd place team thru 45 games.
Hitting .307 .382 .455, with 4 homers and 25 rbi.

Certainly sorta overpriced, but 2b is thin, and considering I've also got abreu hitting .241 .402 .358, I'm not complaining.

So, it can be done. I must just not be getting the rolls. I've got him in Citizen's Bank, and he's hitting .208.

Good card, worth the money in my view. 2e8 at 2B is great and has tons of on base (well, not tons but it's tons for a second baseman) with a bit of power so is good high up in the lineup.

Oh, I like him fine. He's almost always available...

I like other 2B better, but if I miss on them and I can get Ellis I am more than happy.

After 6 games in Dodger Stadium he's hitting a brisk .083.

That is $7 mil well spent.

These high OB chance RH hitters never seem to translate into great OB (.350+, see B. Clark of last year) at the top of the order for me. Right now I'm batting him 2nd vs R, and lead-off vs L. On the other hand, I do loves me some low hit parks like SAFECO and LAN.

If I could do it over, I'd have found a way to add Derek Lee to my team as my primary stick, and go super cheap at 2B if necessary.

After only 27 games, Ellis is batting .342 with a .409 OBP and .439 SLG. He has scored 19 runs and has 2 HRs and 15 RBI.

So far so good plus he is tough on defense.

He's now hitting .314, with a .359 obp, and .558 slg., with some mvp votes.

I'm starting to change my mind................ :o

I've still got him after 42 games, but he's hitting .241 with a .305 OBP and 4 HRs.
