LOTO 2006 WARMUP LEAGUE...

Another Blockbuster!

Postby Jeepdriver » Wed Apr 12, 2006 7:25 am

This time with the Undeads (CaTom). Unusual as it was within our division, but again, it appears to be a fair trade that "could" help both teams. Hey! At least I'm trying, right?

Ukiah UnDeads traded:
Tucker, Michael ($520,000)
Abreu, Bobby ($7,000,000)
Jones, Andruw ($9,340,000)
Guerrier, Matt ($1,330,000)
Halladay, Roy ($8,850,000)

to Carolina JeepDrivers for:
Giles, Brian ($8,090,000)
Griffey Jr., Ken ($5,930,000)
Cabrera, Miguel ($9,050,000)
Tavarez, Julian ($580,000)
Garcia, Freddy ($3,200,000)

Who did better? Anyone care to make a friendly analyzation?

I was just looking over the tour leagues and an interesting and odd stat popped out in league 8. The West division teams have all scored exactly 17 RF!

That may be the first time I have ever seen a division score exactly the same amount of runs!

I'm totally enjoying looking over the tour teams and seeing how guys put their teams together. Interesting stuff...Ok so I'm showing geekiness here.

looks like Memphis won't happen until May! Looking forward to it! If I see Elvis I will tell him "hi" for you :).

JD, looks like a fair trade to me ;) --- we'll see (hated to give up Bobby BUT think he'll work out on your team) :) NOW if one of us can win the division and the other get the wild card

Ooooh boy Jeep you crack me up. Let me log in the league when I get home and we'll look into Halladay.

I like the trade, personally I like Abreu, Jones and Halladay but the trade is a good one for both teams... I'm still cracking up with your pretty please plead for a a halladay trade.

BTW Rob, that is an uber impressive list of invitees for the tourney really cool cats and good players there, should be fun. I am too, like Ty and Stoney pretty much set for this year I think, between the tour, the barnstormers in ATG (which I am really enjoying) and LOTO I am one strat-happy dude. It's also cool having been with the fellas before when I check the links to the other tour leagues to see how you guys are doing. Stoney, I know you say the transition to 06 hasn't been easy but so far your tour team is doing pretty good, nice going there.

Rob, sorry I've been late in replying mail, will write tonight when I get home, I'll try to contact JD, last I heard he was really busy and doing quite well. He's a funny dude.

BTW Rob, Mr. Baseball World and Treyomo are uber cool dudes that I'm sure would fit perfectly in LOTO. And since I am in an endorsing mood why not offer an invite to the Mighty Moose (I know he's mostly an ATG-er, but his record keeping warrants a welcoming party) and/or to the main man Bernie... Like playing pool with the producer, always fun to play the boss.

Sorry I've been on the quiet side guys, been terribly busy but my Cat has returned my tongue so...here we go again... smashmouth is back baby!!!

A lot of players on the list are ones I have invited in the past(Due to sharing other leagues), but due to various committments were unable to play...I imagine i will get all 24 from last year, the new guys from this year and several others committed. Based upon former ratios, I think it will take at least 60-70 invites to get the full 48.

I certainly hope Luckyman will play this year(He is the one player I have never beaten or finished ahead of since inception), and I think Riggo will want to return to the fold. The competition is so good in LOTO, that the bragging rights are definitely way up there with the other tours, I think.

There is a statistic that I look for over all the others - The second being win Pct. When I calculate my own ratings.

That statistic is the pct. of Playoffs made vs how many teams one has had. Making the post is the only goal I ever have at the start of any season. You cannot win a championship if you don't make the playoffs.

Some players are lights out once they get in - ET for example. Others have an incredible playoff pct. but like the Atlanta Braves find the ring somewhat elusive. But I wouldn't discount making the playoffs more than 50% of the time tho. That is an incredible feat IMO.

Gotta' go put my little one to bed. Sometimes I fall asleep in there with her. More later. :) Robert

Yes I've noticed Cummings quiet little streak. Being the league treasurer I've also noticed another quiet little streak...

There is a suprising corolation between Cummings listed financial losses lately and that of offshore banking transactions made by the league's umpires...

Coincidence???

Ooopsy, you cwaught me :P

Aaaaand I am sure there's a third leg to the strange "coincidences" 1st: the money dissapears from my accounts. 2nd it mysteriously appears with the Umps, but then it dissapears again and magically it shows up around the chests all the exotic dancers around Cha-Cha land... err... that didn't come out right, it shows up in the vaults of the exotic dancing Clubs around Cha-Cha...

Other than that and the "Magic Belly Bali Belly Dancers" I've been hiring for pre-game clubhouse shows, I think I've just been benefitting from a few good rolls. HAL is a bit like Don Corleone sometimes, he protects you and provides you with good fortune but then he asks you to take a hit....and dang! he shows no mercy then..but you've got to be grateful and graceful with the Don.

Where am I going with this...heck I don't know, I guess I lost track if this "good luck" is my reward for previous bad luck or if it's setting me up for some bad rolls later on. Well, might as well enjoy it while it lasts, eh?
