So, now that we are all in, what strategies did you use?

I decided to try a few different things instead of shooting for the usual suspects and hoping HAL gives me something different.

My top 5 (hope i got this right)

Winfield
Ripken
Murphy
Fernandez
Blue

I decided to go with a 5 man rotation initially (figured i didn't want to get into a crapshoot for Clemens, Hershiser, Soto etc.)

Decided to go cheap at 2B, which will allow me to spend a bit more on my Pitching staff than I usually do.

Took no .75 Middle releivers, opted for guys in the .80 - 1.5 range instead. did go after 2 decent closer options in the 2-3M range.

I really wanted Cecil Cooper for some odd reason, never used him - hopefully I get him instead of hoping that somehow Mattingly or Hernandez slips to later in the draft.

Well I'm happy you're in Bracket 2 and not 3 with me, as I'd like Winfield too, but didn't list him first...

six for six - you have got to be loving life right now. Winnie is like the holy grail for me, I have listed him on every draft list, (the last 3 times first) only to be shot down every time....

I missed out on all three of my OF selections, My 1B, 3B and C. Trying to scoop up the pieces right now. At least I have a good waiver spot.

I almost am afraid to say this.

I ended up with my top twelve picks and 19 out of 25 picks total. I should win the division hands down with that type of luck. The only other time I came close to a draft like that however was with one of my all time worst teams. This is the first time that I won't even really need to be around for the free agent frenzy after the waiver draft.

In order, here were my top twelve choices. I am playing in Royals Stadium, a first for me. I usually play Fenway. Royals is very similar as far as singles go, but a bit different when it comes to homers.

Gwynn
Soto
Raines
Carlton
Butler
Dave Smith
Joyner
Hoyt
Porter
Concepcion
Sax
Reardon

First miss was on pick 13 with Bill Dawley.

Never use all your luck in the autodraft. It means you'll end up with horrible cards.

Guys,

I apologize for my earlier post on this thread. I just realized this was the bracket 2 smack thread, not bracket 4.
