'Draft EVERYONE' 2005 Live Draft League - Trade Away!

9 games to go with a 6 game lead - but I've lost 2 key bats, so I cannot really bench anyone else. 3 more wins should be enough to stagger into the playoffs, but I do hope to finish with the 2nd best record as my road performance is really bad LOL.

Won 2 of 3 to clinch the East. :)

Interestingly enough it looks like the WC has been secured before the West & Central Divisions have been. A strong push by Warrior means that the Central is not won yet, although with a 4 game lead with 6 to go, FoggyOne still has the best shot.

Meanwhile whomever loses the West title is automatically the WC, and will likely play the team they lost to! All other teams are at least 6 games back behind dr. tax, who is continuing his strong surge to surplant AF Dickie as West Division Champ.

Funny story and why I stink as a Manager

Postby FoggyOne » Fri Apr 14, 2006 11:41 am

So....I have this very good team in the Draft Everyone Theme. It is about one third of the way through the season and the team is underperforming....well below 500.

The Team has wonderful match-up starting pitchers....it even has position players to start depending upon the field hosting the game. WOW!

But the Manager can't manage this elite core of pros.........

The Manager then goes to Foxwoods to play a few days of poker tournaments. Of course there is no PC access there......otherwise people might gamble online or waste time outside the casino.

I return from the trip, and the team has reeled off 12 wins out of 15 games! No pitching match-ups were made. No changes to line-ups.

Well, after that, I let the team play by itself. I made NO changes whatsoever (until today to rest guys for playoffs).

The Team finished 36-18 over the last 1/3 of the Season with no one at the helm.

MORAL OF THE STORY???????????

Draft Pujols and put him in a hitters stadium. I've never seen a triple crown winner in this game before. 80+ HRs and 200+ RBIs and 370ish BA. I am a genius!

Great theme AT; and good luck to all the other playoff teams.

And dr.tax has done it - come from behind to overtake AF Dickie for the West title. AF Dickie gets the Wild Card. Now they get to battle it out in the Semi Finals while my squad faces FoggyOne and his Triple Crown Pujols.

I lucked out in that one. Knew we would meet up, butr felt better at home.

Alas though. it seems all my teams that make it to the finals come from wild card. Guess I will fail once again to get my first championship.
