NLD 13 Draft thread

Shirtheads are struggling, we're middle of the pack in stats, but 4-8? :?

Hopefully things will turn around. Kotchman is off to a 1-16 start. Ouch.

I know everyone's probably got someone like that. Actually, the guy that's killing us is Reyes. 3 BS so far and a brutal ERA. If that keeps up, it's going to be a looooong season. I don't expect it to however.

Semp, glad the BTT80's numbers are helping. Figured they would.

AT, actually, I don't have ratings, but I do have the stats that you can have if you want them. Let me know.

after a rough start , the Mystics have gone w-7. to quote Elmer Fudd, "wuvly".

Sheffield has gone absolutely bananas and he is not alone..... This kind of output on offense cannot last, but it is fun to watch while it is happening.

Obviously I have no complaints about my teams performance ( well other than Kazmir and Webb  ), but I do have complaints,

We sweep last night to win our 4th series in a row and NO mention in the league headlines about the sweep or series winning streak????

and I know it's early, but I have one of the top scoring offenses in the league and NO All Star votes for my position players???

We'll just use this as motivation...Watch out NLD here come the Dragons

( of course my posting this probably means were headed for a 0-9 swoon but what the hell it was fun while it lasted. )

JTJ: Sure I'd love to have them!

Would give me something to focus on while my 2006 teams quickly sink to the bottom!

Oh yeah and it's not affecting him at all. I mean HE HASN'T HIT A HR YET THIS YEAR.

Carpenter tossed a 1-hitter against the United last night facing the miimum. It's the second time we've been 1-hit this yar.

JET/WINEMAN - Al Reyes has 3 blown saves; hey, I've got a number of "real" closers. Cordero or KRod may be available.

Pedro - 35 innings scoreless ball

Postby Semper Gumby » Sat Apr 15, 2006 7:56 am

[quote:9dc1e1b1df]Pedro Martinez(2-1) took the loss. He allowed just 7 hits and no walks in 11 innings. [/quote:9dc1e1b1df]

Well, so much for relievers coming to save Pedro's streak.

However, they come into rescue Peavy after he tosses 6 innings of ball allowing 2 hits / 1 walk / 8 SOs?

Arms Race

Postby Semper Gumby » Sat Apr 15, 2006 2:37 pm

CLEVELAND (AP) After tossing 35 innings without allowing a runner to reach home, Pedro Martinez ran out of luck. "Of course, I felt bad but I hit him next time" bellowed Pedro after being asking how he allowed the walk-off homerun in the 11th inning last night.

In other team news, team owner Semper Gumby responded to his earlier comments about a lower salary cap for the league "I'm in a small market town and we just can't compete for the high salary players. We are hoping our young arms can carry the team to a winning record. We'll focus on signing Victor Martinez to a 2 year contract very soon and hope to keep Kenny Lofton aboard until he retires."

When question on why he cut Cliff Lee and Bob Wickman, Gumby stated "we didn't have enough money for their bobble heads so we had to cut them loose."
