Does Anyone Play 1969?

Our historical single season sets

i've been playing 69 for a while now. starting to lose interest. i was in one league that was good. trades, messages, every day. since then it's back to draft and read box scores. no one wants to trade so after the draft and free agents it gets really boring. even tried a couple of theme leagues but they're dead too.

i think once the 5 teams i have going now are done, so am i. i don't think i'll be getting any credits from them anyway. my luck has run out.

i tried bbt80's for a while and had some 05 teams. the 80's game was okay. i'm hoping they make some changes. maybe i'll go back. the 05 i didn't like. the last league i was in was an auto league where one guy released everyone and had a roster of scrubs. he won like 32 games.

I've played 6 times and am getting worse each time. I can't wait until 1970 comes out.

I've just started my fifth 1969 team. I enjoy the limited player pool and the chance to play with players I remember growing up! For example, Roberto Clemente was my favorite player of all time and I finally decided to draft him with my fifth team! His injury and 10+ mil scared me before. After 9 games, he is hitting .471 and flashing his (-5) throwing arm. Previously, auto leagues were filling more quickly. I joined a 100 mil DH league and got thrashed. I'm now in a 80 mil DH league with many vets and it took about three weeks to fill. I agree this season will fade quickly, but I enjoyed it while it lasted and look forward to the next single season issue! J Law P.S. Cleon Jones is the man in '69!

I'm with you, John Law. I'm just starting my 4th team. I was an 8-year-old Cubs fan in NW Indiana in 1969, and I lived and died that summer with those guys.

I like how many different ways there are to build a team of 69ers. You've got some stud pitchers (Marichal, Gibson, etc.), some guys who could hit .300 with one arm tied behind their backs (Rose, Clemente), some guys who could go yard (Reggie, McCovey, etc.), and some guys who could steal the other guy blind (Brock, Harper). I really don't think I'll ever get tired of it. There are so many different ways to win.

Fun players in 1969 - watch for various theme leagues that pop up. They are fun.

Of course, with the break in weather, I suppose (hope) that most of us will get away from the computer and work out more than our fingers and wrists.

Evidently 69 is pretty dead Was gonna give it another try but seems I'd be left waiting for a league to fill Kinda like 2002 season that I liked a lot and kept trying to fill leagues Last one took 3 and half months to fill and I was hoping I would not win so I could quit in peace

:?: :?: :?:
I just started an autodraft league season that filled in less than a week...

This is my 6th 69 team, haven't ever had to wait longer than a week.

Yeah, the board's dead for some reason, but the game itself is alive and kickin'. 8)

I have enjoyed the 69 season and plan on playing again. I tihnk that the corwd that plays this game since it is a single season is less into these boards and more into the game. I found the 69 season to be one of the better games.
