How early do you dump Ryne Sandberg if he is batting .083 and Frank White is available?

never dump sandberg for white. give ryne 250-300 ab's...maybe game 78

I agree. I wouldn't either. But if you need to free up cash because you're hurting in other areas, I'd look at doing it but that really depends on a lot of factors.

If you are simply going to dump Sandberg for White. I'd say no. If you were doing it with another acquisition in mind: maybe.

Sandberg for a frontline pitcher and perhaps a light-hitting, good fielding 2B might be worthwhile, unless pitching is working for you.

I can't really address the question, though -- Sandberg is my all-time favorite player. I always had him on my face-to-face teams, and my computer teams. That said, I doubt I'll get him with my latest 80s team.
