My best team record ever....

Out of curiosity, which player would be your number one pick with a balanced team like that? My guess would be Yount.

Bobby, I was just looking at our head-to-head in that league. I was 2-4 when you came to HR friendly Baker Bowl; I was 4-2 when my lumbering men took you on in your Astro dome!

Go figure.

Oh and this -- Only one of my four 100+ win teams went on to win a championship.

Check this out: This team won 112 games (tied for 2nd all-time ATG2). I started the playoffs with Judge, O'Neill, and Jackson on the DL. I won the first round. With all my starters now healthy for the finals, I proceeded to bow out in 6. My Cajun buddy ZUMA, with an 85 win team, drop kicked my butt and took the ring.

Thanks gkhd11a for the memory of that team. To answer the post question my #1 pick was Yount. But I don't believe in the theory that the #1 pick is that vital. It's a building process and we had threads showing common players for championship teams and there are so many to select from that no one player decides the success of your team. I will admit that out of all my championships in ATH I and II....Yount has appear in most of them. But to set the record straight, he has been on many of my teams so his odds improve to be on a championship team.
On another question, I did rest players at the end of the season. I think this team probably would have won between 107-109....but it will be all for nothing should it lose. Kevin A won 101 games too.....Bobby

I agree that the number one pick isn't the most vital, but I was thinking in terms of availability. Sometimes trying to "predict" how a draft will run if it is an auto draft is pretty intriguing especially when you consider most guys will be after players that are 11 mill or more. With this logic is stands to reason that players like Yount and McLain will be there in the early rounds. Comparable players with a bit smaller price tag. :)

My 105 win team was cut down in the semis 3-2 but it doesn't take away from one of the most enjoyable seasons playing ATG. Congrats to the Oilballers. At least Kevin A's 101 win team made the finals so there wasn't a complete 100 win jinx for the league. Best of luck to both managers in the finals. It was fun....Bobby
