Penn,
now I understand why they have the "report abuse" icon on the left of each message on the thread !!!

I hope you win -- for your DOG's sake

Don't worry PENNGRAY.....I'LL kick your wife and beat your dog for you!!!!!

The EXPRESS ran out of gas before the final checkpoint by not winning a series in the final week (6-15 in final 7 days). They turned a season which started a blistering a 12-game over .500 mark at the All-Star break (48-36) into a painfully slow death march going a pedestrian 35-43 over the second half of the season.

To make matters worse, by losing 8 of 12 encounters with the Hoboken Murphs, the Murph get the WILD CARD nod. They were able to sneak in the back door of the race in the final game of the season by pulling out a dramatic ninth inning victory thanks to a single and a throwing error.

Funny my wireless connection works even on the ledge of my apartment building......: 0 LOL

Congrats Sean, Penn, Albert, Sykes.

Sorry BigA.

I still can't get over my team's finish. Despite being totally depleted, I won the last 7 games of the season, went 10-5 in the last week, 16-8 in the last 8 series. I wonder how I would've done if I hadn't traded away my best '83 players?? I managed to rack up my best record in this league so far, while still remaining in the bottom 4 by 1 game, with a shot at #1 pick.

Anyway, enough about me. Great season, great finish, guys. Good luck to the playoff teams. I have a feeling 1984 will be even more interesting.

What a great game this 80's thing is.

Who would have thought that a Jack Murphy team would make the playoffs in the 9th inning of game 162 due to Eddie Milner and Terry Puhl. Go figure.

Lock and load... Let's see if we can get the draft in before BigAl is unavailable in the middle of October. Congrats to all the play-off teams. Despite my miserable team, I still had a great time trying to figure things out for this season and then later for down the road.

YF is unavailable between Oct 1-8. Big A is unavailable between Oct 5-20. The playoffs won't end before Oct 3.

Unfortunately, there's going to be some delay before we get 1984 started.
