NEW GUY ASKS: How unusual is this delay? Is PennHAL supposed to move on to the next guy's name?

Usually one, two or three during every life draft I've been in. The key is leaving proxies with one or two alternate choices and hope they aren't taken prior to your return.

Proxies can be troublesome to a newcomer. Double check the round for the proxy and the priority for the pick. If in doubt, ask us.

The other key is, if not leaving a proxy or two, communicating if you will be absent from the draft for any length of time. Those of us who check in regularly appreciate that.

Third key is to pick your $.50M guys during rounds 5 thru 11.

OK, I lied about the last one.

The key is the next guy after time expires must make his pick to get past the slow guy. I believe proxies will automatically execute after the 3 hours if the next person has proxies set up.

A live draft usually take 3 to 4 days, so this is pretty normal.

Chastizing Mr_BBW

I sent both a PM and EMAIL to Mr_BBW asking him to be more considerate of the rest of us.

The great thing about using Penngray's site for a live draft is it enables everyone to leave proxies. If one person doesn't leave proxies, however, we lose the benefit of the site and still have to continually check in to see we are stalled. I guess I'm trying to say that no mattet how accommodating the site is, if everyone doesn't use the proxy feature, we may as well not be using the site.

I've kept quiet so far but this is beginning to get ridiculous. First all day Sunday wasted due to BBW's absence and refusal to use proxies. Now two snags from the same player again on Tuesday. And this is not the first time this individual has held up a live draft I've been in. So just so everyone knows for future reference, this isn't a random, isolated act of malfeasance by Mr.BBW.

What I don't get is why sign up for a live draft that involves a group effort and then not be available. Again and again. Right now I've got about 10 proxies listed. I hate having to do that but I really don't want to hold up the draft for others, nor do I want to get skipped. If someone knows they won't be available would it kill them to write down a few proxies? :x They are very self explanatory, so if you can play strat you can use Penn's site without instruction.

:?: :?: :?:
I'm torn bewtween being frustrated and angry that MrBBW has kept us waiting so long and worrying that something is wrong. Kind of like with my college sophomore nephew...."if he doesn't get home soon, I'm going to kill him!" Obviously not wanting to kill him but hoping he wasn't wrapped around a telphone pole somewhere or driving after drinking with friends. Hopefully MrBBW will check in soon..... :?
