If the draft wraps around to me consider me done. I can scoop up whatever dregs that are left off the waiver wire.

Start the league

Postby BC Manager » Wed Apr 19, 2006 2:16 pm

If Mav, YF, Sean or Hak is done drafting, feel free to start the league and share the password with the other East teams.

It would be great if we could get everyone in the league by Friday. (We now have the option of doing a weekend frenzy, but I guess we'd need to know we were doing that ahead of time).

I'm not suggesting the draft is done. I'll still pick when it gets to me.

I'm still drafting, so I won't start the league ... there's at least one more player I need to add.

thanks,

1986 BFD

Postby YountFan » Wed Apr 19, 2006 7:49 pm

With the additions of rookies Tim Burke, Robby Thompson along with the former Canuck Dave Winfield the BFDs are set to give HAK a run for the Eastern Divisional crown.

The BFDs are bound to miss all-time win leader and former Cy Young winner Britt Burns, but with Valenzula, Martinez, Viola and Browng taking the hill every forth day the slack will hopefully be taken up. Better things are expect from the bullpen with the addition of Burke and the returning Willie Hernandez and Mark Clear. Willie Hernandez has indicated he will retire after the 86 campaign so he planning on going out on top. Clear cannot any worst that last season, but if he does he'll be out of the majors.

The once potent BFD lineup hopes to return the the glory days with the addition of Dave Winfield. I'm sure they'll miss the fleet footed Brett Butler at the top of the order, but Big Dave should have fun in the hard slugging Easterm Division. Winfield (cf), along with Rice (lf) and the retiring Dave Parker (rf) round out one of the most powerfull outfields in the league. Rice, along with Parker will be looking to redeem themselfves after a most disappointing 85 seasons.

With Eddie Murray (1b) and Doug DeCinces (3b) anchoring the corners, Scofield (ss) and newcommer Robby Thompson (2b) shore up the middle of a solid infield. Ernie Whitt (c) and Tim Laudner (c) will share the catching duties now that fan favorite Ted Simmons has retired. The DH will be Bob Horner who is returning for another year (his last) with the BFDs.

The team looks ready for 1986 and as it always is the those lovable BFDs; If the pitching holds up they'll have a chance.
