Flash Grodon & Todd Jones...I need relief

Postby APS1 » Tue Apr 18, 2006 7:42 am

Thought I had a good setup/closer duo....so far they stink  Granted only 24 games at Citizens BAnk park but... Gordon 1-2, 9 era, 1.40 whip, 2 hr's allowed...Jones is better...1-3, 2sv, 4 blown sv's, 11.80 era, 2.90 whip and 5 hrs allowed...by the way he does not have hr on card....are they doing well for anyone?...is it just bad luck...are they not right for park...will things even out?...should I drop one or both?...who would trade value for them?.....HELP  ...all suggestions greatly appreciated :D

I really don't know where gordon fits in this year. With an R1/C1 rating, what do you do with him?? Don't see him as a setup guy or a closer with that rating and not a particularly great card. And with his price tag, he is too expensive as a spot reliever/fill in guy.

He is on a team in my league, and doing HORRIBLE! 7.71 ERA, 1.64 WHIP.

I always suggest at least an R2 for your setup guy...with an R1 rating, fatigue is a possibility in the first inning...not good for a setup guy IMHO.... :)

Jones should be fine as your closer....

Good luck!

These are Gordon's numbers for me in Coors:

3 1 0 0 21.1 17 11 11 8 22 4 4.64 1.17

My team just had an 8 game winning streak, they've been doing better since I picked him up. I think he has an ok card and in Coors you need lots of relief pitchers I guess. The ones I had were killing me so I had to spend the money.

On a side note, I don't think you can play the game this year with an 80 mil cap.
