$100M Easter Live Draft Chat Room

In that bio thread BBW mentioned 1) going through a divorce, 2) changing job location and 3) moving into an apartment.

Perhaps he has a sound reason for his absense. Perhaps not.

That said, I was awaiting an explanation or an apology for Sunday's absence. A simple "I had more important matters..." would have sufficed. The lack of any communication has me concerned.

His 2nd and 3rd round picks appear to have been proxies or very prompt.

Perhaps a noon deadline CST is in order here. If no word by then perhaps a replacement owner can be summoned. But if his 4th and 5th round picks are passed by, then a replacement owner might be reluctant to take over such a handicap.

So I recommend a draft halt until noon today CST. Should Mr BBW reappear before that time he can enter proxies for his fourth and fifth round (and hopefully more) which should kick in once the draft is resumed.

PROXY QUESTION

Postby divad » Wed Apr 19, 2006 1:34 pm

iF YOU SPECIFY 5 PLAYERS FOR ROUND 6 AND FIVE PLAYERS FOR ROUND 7 AND ALL OF YOUR ROUND 6 PROXIES ARE DRAFTED BY SOMEONE ELSE, DOES PennHAL draft round 7 guys in the sixth round for you or not? Do you have to specify rounds or can you make one big list?

I guess the grouping option is so you could group several 2bs (or whatever) together and have the whole group thrown out when you get one of them?

Any other Penngray Site education a beginner might want would be appreciated.

If you lose all proxies in a round the site does not move to your next round's group. The draft would come to a halt.

The group feature is as you think.

I apologize for the delays that were caused.

[quote:bec141719f="Petrosian"]First all day Sunday wasted due to BBW's absence and refusal to use proxies. [/quote:bec141719f]

What refusal to use proxies? I set my proxies for another draft Saturday night and checked to see if this draft had been created but did not see it. (Tip: You can't set proxies for drafts ahead of when the draft is started.) Since it was a holiday weekend I was at my moms house with the kids that night and was on the road early and at relatives houses all day Sunday. Due to my move I had no access Sunday night. Monday was my second day working in a new office in my company(the result of a merger between our office and and a competitors office into their office). as soon as I got access I went made my picks and set some proxies. Too bad that in all that wasted time on Sunday you were incapable of setting proxies as there was a three hour wait on your first pick on Monday. Practice what you preach.

I also set proxies when I left work on Monday night. They got me through 2 rounds and were more than ample for the time I expected to be unavailable. Unfortunately I was not at work Tuesday but was instead taking care of my children since one had pneumonia.

Please list all those drafts I delayed too. Malfeasance? I won't start.

Hey, can I draft a MASH unit? I normally don't pan any attention to injuries, but I just realized...

Joe D.
Chance
Wagner
Joe Jackson
Sanguillen

Can I get some medical assistance please?

I'm currently up. I tried to pick Fryman. However, it won't let me draft anyone over 2.84 million. As I am currently at 68 M I should certainly be able to draft Fryman. Sorry to hold things up but this seems to be a glitch on Penn's site. I think that only Stephen has administrative rights. Let me know how to resolve this.

This is the message I got when I tried to draft Fryman:

[b:bcf54ef4f0]Invalid Pick, You only have 2.84 to spend 68.66 80 18[/b:bcf54ef4f0]

Actually my best guess is that the draft was only set up for 80million instead of a 100 M. On second thought that probably doesn't explain it as I would still have 10 M for 16 picks.

BBW

Postby The Last Druid » Wed Apr 19, 2006 8:12 pm

As far as practicing what I preach, I explained to Stephen that I work and don't have internet access at work. And I won't make a proxy pick on the first round. So if you hadn't held things up all day Sunday and in to Monday morning, I could have made a pick before I went to work on Monday. But as it was I made the pick as soon as I came home from work. And all my subsequent picks have been proxies. So I do practice exactly what I preach; and do so as a point of honor. My issue arises because I had to check the site about 20 times on Sunday so I wouldn't hold things up in case you actually made a pick. Your behavior Tuesday in holding up the draft for two picks was annoying but not as problematic because I made proxies and didn't have to check constantly to see if I was up. Thus my point is that I take issue with your behavior precisely because I do practice what I preach. It might have taken you all of 30 seconds to put a message up on this board saying you wouldn't be available. However, given your explanation, I will retract the word "malfeasance" as a description of your behavior. Perhaps inconsiderate is more accurate.

As far as the other leagues, it is hard to say since once they're completed one doesn't know whose team was who. But I am pretty sure that this scene has played before with you. I'll check your prior posts this year to see if anything is mentioned about you holding up live drafts.

Here is from March 1

Geekor: MBBW, you can make 3 picks!!

MBBW :Sorry. Thought I had caught up before but

Then we have this from 2/25 which isn't a live draft per se but...

Mighty Moose: It's mr bbw who is not in the East yet.

MBBW: sorry guys

Another:
19 Feb 2006 05:45
MBBW: Sorry about the delay. Thought I would make it through both picks with the proxies I had. Set proxies now that should get me through until I get back on Sunday evening

Seems to suggest a pattern, does it not?
