New '06 team...Need a little help here

Postby BRADSANDBOTHE » Fri Apr 21, 2006 12:30 pm

This is what I ended up with after the draft.

I got most of my pitching staff, but only 2 hitters that I wanted,

This team is playing at Busch. And waivers haven't happened yet.
Has anyone had any luck with any of these players.
Should I dump some pitching??? I could dump and go for hitting, but at this point I am going to have to piece together a team.
Any help would be appreciated.

I would:

Go with 4 *SP's. Dump Sheets and Rogers.

Keep Ryan and Thompson. Then grab another even balanced RP to go with 1 or 2 $.50 RP's. (Hard LH/RH's) Your SP's can go into the 7th inning before getting tired. There won't be enough innings to go around.

Hitting:
Platoon Zaun with a catcher that hits righties better. Navarro? Grab a higher OB catcher if you can. (1R or 2R)

Tracy will have some problem hitting in your park. Is he platooning with Hernandez. He needs a platoon mate.

Belliard is OK.

You need a better SS, defensively. Look for a 1 or a 2 defensively.

CF position needs help.

Green needs a platoon.

Rodriguez needs to DH.

Do you think Wakefield would be a good choice for Busch (and my division)???

He's good for Busch AND Petco but NOT for Camden and Dodger stadium, IMO.

Dump Wakefield. You are not going to see enough lefty bats in your division. I'd prefer: Garland, Davis or even Harang.

RP's I like for you:
T. Williams
Mecir
Witasick
Guerrier
Orvella
Eldred
Sanchez
Villone
Vogelsong

Here is what I have at this point,

Not much power, but that being said:
Platoon at 1st and at DH:

Still holding Wakefield for the Moment:

Now what do you think:

I'd:

Grab D. Johnson for 1B.

Grab either Everett or Perez @ SS.
If you grab Everett, also take Izturis to hit vs. LH's.

3B needs help. Graffinino, Randa, Hall, Mueller and Betemit with a platoon are better than what you have.

Dump Thomas. He's a injury waiting to happen.

Who is in CF? Taguchi? How about Dave Roberts?
