Well miracles do happen! My team won its first series at home, and it was a sweep! :D

Well, after never posting a losing NLD season, the Pepe's team has sunk into 12th place with a losing record in Coors.

I thought this was a mediocre team that would crush it at home and get whupped up on the road. Looks like a slight miscalculation on my part.

Are we having fun yet?

When my team beats Harden (probably one of the top SPs in the deck), you know something is strange about this season.

After living on the edge with Hammond and Thompson ( :x ), I am wondering about the cards.

Sure random stuff happens but after spending the entire week crunching numbers (regressional analysis stuff) for some 900 companies looking for variables (I found a few that drive fiscal performance), I can say predictable ain't what this season is about.

Perhaps when everyone is sporting an All-Star team on BALCO sauce, you see these things.

However, I know the season will be stranger than Jim Morrison's mind when Harden is out pitched by FAT C.C.!

HAL's Pitching Logic is Corrupt

Postby Semper Gumby » Sat Apr 22, 2006 9:57 am

Why does HAL pull Billy Wagner (two games in a row) after pitching to two batters?

And before anyone says "he would have faced a RHB" - why bother have any settings?

Funny you should mention that Semper. I have Wagner on my Tour Team, and he gets pulled far more often than he should, several times after letting 1 batter reach base. And I certainly don't have settings where that should happen. It doesn't seem to happen with other top closers I have. :?:

BTW, re Harden: I have him on 3, maybe 4 teams and he has yet pitched to his card, consistently underperforming. Unless circumstances get in the way, I'm going to avoid him on future teams.

TSN's Pitching Logic is Corrupt

Postby Semper Gumby » Sat Apr 22, 2006 10:20 am

Jeep,

I see HAL pulling pitchers (typically SPs) early in the 80s scenario (when you learn the card - you can work back to why) more often than not.

Perhaps the POW # is at work and HAL is sensitive to it. However, Billy Wagner has the best RP card in the deck and for HAL to yank him because Billy might face a RHB is bullchit.

Something tells me that the engine is corrupt again.

In the above games, I want Billy pitching to who / whomever comes up to bat especially when Billy is just inserted into the inning.

I'm growing tired of the randomness of this game. While the one-size fits all engine works well - it falls down too many times here.

I truly understand statistics (part of my undergrad degree) and work with numbers all day. However, TSN needs to implement the CD-ROM settings for the advance leagues or else it just doesn't work close to right.

Again, in the above games - I WANT WAGNER TO PITCH UNTIL HIS ARM FALLS OFF.

If you beat me, you beat me with my best pitcher tossing the ball. Hell, Pedro has pitched three 9 inning plus games!!!!!!!!!!!!

only thing wrong with my team so far is the pitching has been very poor(Duke 7+ era) no hitting to be found anywhere(Sizemore at 160,Chipper 200,Clark 227,and berkman has just started hitting),and the injury bug has been devastasting to my sorry team.(Chipper has missed 22 games ,T Clark 15,Ausmus 16,Garabito 15,Atkins 11,Counsell 4,Vizquel 3 and Iguchi 1 for a total of 87 games so far).Unfortunately for me all of my teams have sucked as bad as the K.C.Royals  :x :(

Smokee, did you say par - ity?

...No one has a winning streak or a losing streak of more than one game. That's pretty cool, never seen that before.

Also, won 2 of 3 against the Dragons at their place. The lone loss was Harden, who fell to 1-5, and continues to disappoint.
