2006 Ameriquest team - any thoughts?

Postby centerfielder17 » Sun Apr 23, 2006 5:33 pm

This is my 1st time in a hitters park. Any vets out there that can give me an opinion on this team at Ameriquest? I am a little worried about RJ, Davis and my pen. Should I be, or do I need to get used to trying to win 11-10 every day?

Thanks!

bad link. Go to league statistics and click on your team. Copy the URL (web address) and paste into this message box. You will know you did it right if the URL ends in numbers instead of letters.

It looks like you are going with a 3 at 2B and at SS. That doesn't help out your pitchers much.

Assuming Clark is your 1B and Delgado is your DH then that means that you have a very expensive backup OF in Monroe. I would downgrade him to a sub 1M OF. In Ameriquest you need more LH power than just Delgado and Gibbons. Keep Clark, he can hit them out of any park. Look for at least one more LH power bat at corner OF or 3B.

I'm not an Escobar fan but I really like the rest of your pitching.

Thanks, Bombers.

I was planning on using Monroe as a starter against LH pitchers where Delgado or Granderson may be disadvantaged in a nuetral or pitchers park.

Escobar was going to be a spot starter where the other team was loaded with RH's, or to set up a more favorable matchup with another SP.

MAke any sense?

Here are the other parks in the division.

Bank One, US Cellular, Dolphins Stadium

Lastly, I don't think I have got the hang of setting up my bullpen settings.

Any help would be appreciated!

why why why...

you are in a good hitters park, why is half your team W powered?? F Sanchez, M Redmond, Lugo, are good (well lugo at DH) in a pitchers park, but your guys should ALL be N powered. Especially with 2 other good hitters parks in your division.

there's only one 3 I'd use at SS, M Young (who is available and a big upgrade), and only because his bat outwiehgs the bad def.

Murton, Mauer, M Young I would much rahter see on your team. Also, Monroe is really NOT worth it.3 million for a backup?? Doesn't make sense at all. 3 mil is too much for some guy who may get 100 ab's.

Rj will struggle, and I don't like Davis much there either. In fact, even though I love Peavy's card, he will not get the stats you are probably expecting. All of you pitchers (YES ALL) have 2 or more BP Hr's, and will have a much highers ERA/WHIP than you expect.

Cards I like for your park that are available:
SP -- Z Duke, Small, Chacin, Vargas.
RP -- Linebrink, T Jones, even Fuentes could probably pass in your park.

just me, but I don't see a .500 team here, hugedude's and rgimbel's team are much better than yours (though they all have some faults).

Well just one guys opinion...

Thanks geekor, I see what you mean. Looks like I got a split personality here. Still looking for high OBP and speed guys like I would in a pitchers park instead of the bashers I should have.
