home park is Shea. Others in division are Safeco,SBC, and Skydome. Any thoughts on this team (pre-waivers) would be appreciated.

Talking on your pitching first...
Although Shea isn't as one sided as in 2003, I still don't like El Duque, especially with a Safeco in your div too. He's gonna have trouble a majority of the time between Shea and Safeco--even in a neutral park he's looking at 25+ OB on the LH side, with 7-8 xB hits. Will be worse than that in these parks where he's sure to see lefties.
Would be fine to have a moderately hard righty for balance at a cheaper price, but I don't know about his $--shoot you could get GRusch, JPeavy, or a Villone and a Weaver for that price for instance. If you want a decent righty who's not eating so many dollars, I'd look for someone like penny, Pavano, clement, depending how opposing lineups stack up.
Your bullpen has the right killer in Wagner for shea, and MGonz is great. Although, I'd consider carefully how you setup your bullpen--take a look at recent posts from Mtarbell regarding the transition to Closer situations in SOMO, it's interesting how a C0 can play out late in the game...although even tired, Gonz card is very good--but it's good knowledge (I forgot the thread name, sorry). Obviously you have a great ace in JSan...your pitching has the right foundations--maybe a tweak here and there...folks like qksilver are shea specialists, among other vets but he comes to mind.

Here's where I have to defer to far greater wisdom on this--take my inputs cautiously!
But I really don't like TGreene in your park...is he a DH vs lefties? you can get someone with more OBA without the baggage of an extra catcher who's dependent on BPHRs...it's not like you have a Wrigley in your division to maximize his protective value. Folks like Wes Helms, EYoung, JWerth, KMatsui, are all pretty cheap guys who hit lefties with 40+ OBs and plenty of hits for the money.
Plus, if you're looking to go cheap on DH, I'd think you would do better to be more LH oriented vs RH oriented, like good cheapies such as Grieve or Ibanez--pretty solid balanced lefties whose salary is discounted either because of inj factor or their terrible defense--which is what you want from your DH anyway--maximize the offense potential I would think. And since you're already taking the inj risk with Greene, why not?
Love Kotsay and Mabry in your park...and Thome is a poor man's Hafner so he's fine. Right now SGreen, for the money, I guess is kind of an average guy--I'm not a big fan but I can be pretty dumb. Like I said, if you free up some pitching $, I'd upgrade your offense. Would think you're another LH and RH hitter away from where you need to be. Maybe some more OBA and power in one package...like a Durazo at DH, he'd be nice in front of Thome.
Hard to make any further comment til you maybe post a draft lineup? First blush also looks like you need a RH OBA guy against RHPs, to guard against reverse righties and lead off...come to think of it, [b:9d58ae86bc]you may have some serious top of the order leadoff issues against RHP... The first thing you have to do is to set your team up to win at home. You are going to play half your games there so you need to have the advantage at home. Below are my suggestions for your team.
Drop Orlando Heranadez and Alvarez. They are not good vs LH batters. Santana is a great start to your rotation. However since he is costly you might need a few cheaper SP. I reccomend going with a 4 man rotation to cut costs. Dump Bump, Alvarez and Hernandez for sure. Look for Nate Robertson and Dontrelle Willis. They are great in Shea. Mulder or Maroth would be good choices too. I don't think you can afford Gonzalez. I would drop him and move Ledezma to the pen. With the money saved on Gonzalez pick up Mike Adams, Brian Meadows or Scot Shields.
I am not a fan of Shawn Green. See if Burnitz is available for RF. If not check out Lew Ford, Figgins or Bocachica for half of a platoon. Hudson, Clayton, Bell & Mabry and Kotsay are solid players for Shea. You could consider Huff for 3B if available. Ramon Heranandez is a good choice at C but there may be cheaper alternatives that will also produce at a lower injury risk including Inge, Miguel Olivo or Jose Molina.
I would drop Greene and Blanco for Alberto Castillo, Pierzynski, Melhuse or Javier Valentin. There are many possiblities for DH if you are in a DH league.

this is pre-waivers, so I anticipate at least a few moves. I don`t like Greene, either. Hernandez is definitely going, too. I kind of like Alvarez for the reverse lefty, and he has done well for me in Shea before. Burnitz is available. You don`t think Green can do the job in right?Waivers is tomorrow.Sorry for the rambling post!

Everybody is going to have a bad season every once in a while, even players that look like they're going to do well in the park you have to play them in. The same cannot be said to be opposite, with a guy like Orlando Hernandez unexpectedly exploding for 25 wins in Shea. I have Mark Mulder and Glendon Rusch (not to mention most of the offense) doing very well for me in Shea right now...

I guess the point I am trying to make is that Dontrelle Willis SHOULD be a good fit for Shea, and one bad season from him shouldn't deter you from picking him up. I'm adding a link to one of my Shea teams only because of the bullpen issues raised above so as for you to see how some of the players have performed so far for me (Mainly the Gonzo/Wags combo)...when it comes to the pitching stats keep in mind that the defense isn't too shabby.
I have also found some use for Hitters like Giambi or Luiz Gonzalez (Arizona LF) to DH vs. LHP when at home (and in your division when in Safeco) any power reverse lefties basically. Tony Clark hasn't been too bad either for me as my 7 hitter in Shea.
Tersignf is right in pointing out the top of the lineup issue.

While I agree with JdEarly that even good players can have a bad season once in a while, I do not agree that Willis is good value in Shea (or any other park for that matter). In my opinion, LH alternatives in the same price range who are good value include Perez, Wolf, Washburn and Milton.
