NLD 13 Draft thread

Postby ArrylT » Sun Apr 23, 2006 8:47 am

day & I are having a fun contest ... who can lose more at home and win as many on the road.

I have 1 more win at home, while he has 1 more on the road ... wierd that we have the best road records in the league ... watch out if I ever clear away my radioactive outfield and remove the Indian Burial grounds from behind homeplate!

I have played only 12 gms at home vs. 27 on the road. Frankly, I'm surprised to be over .500 at this point.

Sims in NLD often come down to who wins more 1-run games. We just have a lot of owners who know what they're doing, and I always look on that as a good thing.

Jeep - look at Harden's K ratio - it's great. With 8 HRs allowed in 50 IP, it's clear he's just giving up a lot of HRs to hitter cards. If you don't have him set that way already, I'd put him on slow hook - he should pitch thru this, has been very good in all sims....

Thanks for the heads up QK on Harden. Yeah, I had him on 'slow hook' up until recently when I took it off to try and jump start him in some way. I'll go back to it being on though.

I hate when my team has many more games played whether it be at home OR on the road. I always think it's harder to come back from say, a road losing streak as opposed to vice versa. They really should do the schedule better. I've been saying this for 2-3 years now.

[quote:c96242ae9e]anyone ??

Semper, even you've gotten quiet. [/quote:c96242ae9e]

Well, I've been:
[list:c96242ae9e](1) Travelling
(2) Working late
(3) Pushing two large deadlines with a pencil
(4) Working around the yard
(5) Getting my house / wife ready for my parent's week long visit
(6) All of the above[/list:u:c96242ae9e]

Otherwise, I am hanging in the mix in this fight. If I can get HAL to use Wagner more often and longer, I'll be fine. Besides - I can't wait for the the $60m NLD league

[b:060a0c7202]Box Score of the season[/b:060a0c7202]:

Diamond Kings... 3 2 0 511 0 1 8 0 - 30 30 2
Silver Hawks.... 1 1 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 - 3 10 2

Diamond Kings IP H R ER BB SO HR PC ERA
C.Silva WIN(2-4) 9 10 3 2 3 3 1 156 4.27
Totals 9 10 3 2 3 3 1

Silver Hawks IP H R ER BB SO HR PC ERA
J.Lackey LOSS(5-4) 0 2/3 4 3 3 1 0 0 30 5.24
J.Rincon 0 1/3 3 2 2 0 0 0 21 5.82
J.Duchschere 3 1/3 12 10 10 2 0 4 87 6.04
J.Isringhaus 3 1/3 10 14 12 9 0 2 118 6.90
R.Seanez 1 1/3 1 1 0 1 3 0 29 2.15
Totals 9 30 30 27 13 3 6

Those are some ugly lines for Duchscherer and Isringhausen in Big's 30-3 blowout. After 30 hits runs and 30 hits in Game 1 Sunday evening, Big was held to a mere two hits in the series finale. HAL giveth and HAL taketh away.

Looks like my pitching is improving some more, but my offense continues to stagnate ... however it is working some how as I went 9-6 since the last stat post. Only got 6 road games this week ... but 18 next week ... wonder if I'll have figured out home cooking by then! :?

the injury bug continues to hit and amaze me with Chipper and Clark both going down once again for 15 games each.I knew I had a few high injury guys on this team but this is absolutely ridiculious just 42 games into the season. My prospects of ending up in a 3rd straight finals in the NLD are disappearing very quickly.Hell I guess I should be used to injuries considering I am a very big Cubs fan and have lived thru way too many injuries over the last few years.
I guess with the season washing away I will just have to see if I cant set some dubious record like most games lost to injury in a single season.

Chipper-37 games lost to injury(means he will have played exactly 18 games in the first 55)
Clark-31 games(24 games played in 55)
Ausmus-18 games
Garabito-15
Atkins-11
Counsell-7
Vizquel-3
Iguchi-1
Total games lost-123.
Maybe it is just me but that is an incredible amount for the first 42 games of a season

Freel got hurt for a [b:341e000a37]fourth[/b:341e000a37] time after just 36 games. And, he was only playing against lefties. Now that's an injury bug if I ever saw one.

Meanwhile, very happy with the way my squad is playing. Currently in 1st place of an NLD league is pleasing, hopefully this team can be competitive all season.

Also, my team is obviously a hitting team, not a pitching team, leading the league in slugging, but right at the bottom in pitching.

Can a hitting oriented team make the post-season in the NLD?
Can Conine be leading the league in BA at season's end?

Sorry guys, I was away taking care of my mom last week. I'll see if I can get some ratings out. I don't know if I'll bother to update Semper's team. It wont' stay the same anyway. ;)
