Posted smartmouth ... :P

[b:bcdba4994d]Cubit/Qk[/b:bcdba4994d] is up ...

I couldn't decide between him, him, him, or him.

So I chose [b:bcdba4994d]him[/b:bcdba4994d]! :?

I don't plan on any dividend out of him next year though (what am I doing???)

I know -- but it really was a very hard choice -- I like it when y'all make my decisions for me -- by taking the guys I want.

I could have gone at least 4 different ways on that pick, and I predict 2-3 of them will be gone by my next pick.

btw .. that "mistake" I "thought" I made earlier WAS Matt Cain.

I was doing my first LD on Penn's site this year and saw him listed. I panicked and said to myself, "he had a TSN card for this year ... what ... I didn't think he did. Oh shoot, and the card is AWESOME. SOMEONE is going to draft him".

Of course, if he REALLY had such a card, someone WOULD have drafted him idiot (and you had already researched this stuff fool).

But in moments of panic our brains (at least mine anyway) go south.

So now I have him for real, a guy who will have growing pains for a couple of years I'm guessing. Perfect. :x

What I absolutely LOVE about this league however, ids that I felt just like GM on a Draft Day. Deciding on getting "immediate help" or whether to build for the future, and weighing all the options.

I found myself mulling Cain's control problems and history of elbow pain and trying to decide whether or not to use a 3rd round pick on him (esp. after having already drafted SP's with "our" first two picks), when we have some immediate concerns that NEED to be addressed.

But, in the end, it was a case of the best name (sp prospect wise) left on the board. I really wanted [b:a32634e55a]Verlander[/b:a32634e55a] but KD took him last round and I thought I was done with it (sp prospects). But I decided to go one more.

NOW, am I done???

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

BUT, I really DO love this league and I think we have a great group now that I foresee spending many enjoyable years doing this with (at least that's what I am thinking when I am selling out the present for the future!) :P

I personally think that Cain was a pathetic, awful, putrid, horrificaly bad pick.

Because he was MY pick.

Would have been easier to swallow if he hadn't gone 2 spots ahead of me.

I hear you FD.

I still think I have a chance to contend this year, but clearly I want to try and build a "franchise" as well, and in addressing such, I was absolutely HORRIBLE in SP coming into this year.

Between the Supplemental Draft and this FA Draft, 5 of my 6 picks have been for SP's.

Last night I emailed Cubit & said I was interested in Cain but thought Sandy would take him with this pick... :D

Anyway, we are quite happy with Chris Ray, should be a killer closer card for 2006 if he can keep it up (early numbers 2nd best to only Papelbon), and not a horrible righty specialist in 2005 if we want him on the active roster.

Still a lotta talent out there fellas!!!
