Sure makes me glad I took Verlander in Round 2 - :)

Might not have if I hadn't seen him take apart the Mariners the other night at Safeco. The ball just looks like it's shot out of a gun when this kid rears back and throws it -

Yeah, Verlander is more polished than Cain imo KD. His K/BB numbers last year vs. the league avg's. were simply phenomenal. I fought long and hard between him and Liriano but Liriano's start so far (albeit as a reliever) made me start salivating for the future.

Guess I am predictable huh, QK, but after having drafted Felix and Liriano I thought long and hard of not taking Cain (I ahve some other pressing needs to be sure).

I certainly like Ray too, and what I like most about your picks QK, is that they are slightly "against the grain" and I mean that in a most complimentary way.

As for Zimmerman, I consider it somewhat of a shock he lasted to the third round. If I didn't already have Wright and Cabrera I'd have taken him to be sure. I hope it hasn't been because he has struggled a little here at the start of the season because he is the "real deal". And the first thing the scouts talk about with him is his glove. He will probably be a[b:f423e00ff9]1[/b:f423e00ff9] as early as next year.

Yeah, I had Zim on our short list as well, but we have Polanco for this year, Lowell is hitting a little better than last year, and there are some other young 3B prospects on the horizon that could be good. I also think lack of HR power + pitcher park in next year or two is something that kept me off of Zim for this pick....
