[quote:34767be2b1]Defense ratings should be high [/quote:34767be2b1]
Hit should be high, Fielding and Pitching low. For us, this team is a departure from the past a bit. We have one of the best rated hitting teams while our fielding is not what we would normally like.
[quote:34767be2b1]I think the trouble with trying to predict in such an even league is that your margin of error is likely to exceed the variance in the actual play.[/quote:34767be2b1]
Absolutely. The ratings are so close only one team would be a surprise to make the playoffs.
[quote:34767be2b1]I see the same trend with Petco teams. Is it any particular style of team that does this? [/quote:34767be2b1]
I have not noticed Petco teams doing exceptionally well because the ratings don't value HRs as much as the salaries do. The only "style" of that I've noticed consistently overperforming has been Coors teams. With the ratings I used up to the middle of last year I noticed that heavy pitching teams underperformed, but I think that's been fixed with these ratings.
[quote:34767be2b1]If you dont mind sharing, should i have chosen minute maid over fenway? [/quote:34767be2b1]
I don't mind sharing, but I don't know if there is a simple answer to that. I could possibly tell you your rating in both parks, but then I would have to run all the other teams through the two parks to see which would favor you the most. I don't have that kind of time right now. Sorry.
[quote:34767be2b1]one run games that will decide the race winners[/quote:34767be2b1]
No doubt. Actually, what the ratings should tell you is what the expected run differentials will be. Or, actually, more properly the number of bases differential, including steals and runners advancing on Single(cf), for example, and fielding bases, etc.
[quote:34767be2b1]RiggoDrill and he has shared many[/quote:34767be2b1]
I hope he's not giving away too much! ;)
[quote:34767be2b1]sorry for my ramblings[/quote:34767be2b1]
I love it. This is the kind of conversation I had in mind when I post the ratings.
[quote:34767be2b1]prices have been driven up to [/quote:34767be2b1]
No doubt, but given the way we filled our rosters with the most expensive players and platoon guys I don't think it had all that much effect.
[quote:34767be2b1] I always hate it when my team rates well [/quote:34767be2b1]
Guess you shouldn't have bought the rating then. :D BTW, have your other teams started to improve?
[quote:34767be2b1]Unfortunately I'm never the favorite. [/quote:34767be2b1]
JG, We can fix that, see www.angelfire.com/games5/joethejet :D
[quote:34767be2b1]. Does this happen to anyone else???[/quote:34767be2b1]
Nope.
[quote:34767be2b1] I'm near the bottom in them...keeps "overperforming." [/quote:34767be2b1]
Niners, the ratings are so close, anyone could win the Central. Turnbow is now 17-17 with no runs allowed. Boy is he going to stink when the stats even out. Trade him now! ;)
