lineup help...

Hey guys, how would you bat this team?

right now this team is 4th in pitching, but 3rd from last in hitting, even though they are 1st in BA and 2nd in OBP (5th from last in SLG).

Right now I have it as:

Lineup vs. LHP

1. Steinfeldt, Harry (R) 3B
2. Mantle, Mickey (S) CF
3. Musial, Stan (L) 1B
4. Clemente, Roberto (R) RF
5. Cochrane, Mickey (L) C
6. Meusel, Bob (R) LF
7. Ripken Jr., Cal (R) SS
8. Mazeroski, Bill (R) 2B
9. Pitcher P

Lineup vs. RHP

1. Steinfeldt, Harry (R) 3B
2. Musial, Stan (L) 1B
3. Mantle, Mickey (S) CF
4. Meusel, Bob (R) LF
5. Cochrane, Mickey (L) C
6. Clemente, Roberto (R) RF
7. Ripken Jr., Cal (R) SS
8. Gantner, Jim (L) 2B
9. Pitcher P

Thanks for your suggestions!

I think the lineup is fine geekor....Great BA and OBP...only thing missing is some POP!!

Mantle 416 slugging?? Musial .487??

Can't imagine that will last much longer!! Hang onto your hat, they are BOUND to start pounding the ball any moment now!

IMO I think your wasting Mick in the 2 whole . Drop him to 4th both ways and put Stan 3rd both way . Other than that its just dinking with it until you find the right combo that kicks this O in .

hmmm... the who would I bat 2nd? Meusel...?? My thinking was Mantle only has BP Hr's vs lefties, but his obp and speed is good, plus only 7 dp's, makes a good #2, but I could drop him lower...

thanks for the support, this team is just frustrating, every time I've gotten back to .500, they get swept, 1 step foward, 2 steps back you know :?

You could try Meusel or Cochrane 2nd vs RHP , try Clemente 2nd vs LHP . The OBP should set up Stan and Mick nicely . Giver a try , what have you got to lose . :D

Clemente second against lefties isn't a bad idea I have done that and it worked. I know he has a lot of DP's but I had success doing it. put Mantle in the 4th slot both ways. Good luck.

Why not have Muesel lead off? He gets on at a better clip than Steinfeldt and has scored more runs. No arguments with where you have Mantle though. He's a solid 2 hole guy vs. leftys b/c of his ballpark HRs. But you're definitely lacking power vs. lefty pitching.
