Ok, here's the deal...

Evening all! Just your old drunk uncle Tyber here with another " He's GOTTA be on crack!" idea.

So there I was sitting on the throne taking a nice leisurely cr...ERR...Sitting in my office diligently looking over my strat teams when a thought crossed my mind (Don't worry, it doesn't happen often).
Our little Strat community here needs...Drumroll please...A CONVENTION!
That's right! A convention. Heck everyone else has conventions and we're a tighter community than most so why shouldn't we have one of our own??
Call it say...Oh I don't know? Maybe the Strat-a-holics Anonymous Convention.

Now here is how I see this going down, if we have enough interest that is??

Dates?? We probably target next year and the dates and location could be voted on by all interested parties.

Just think of it guys! We could all sit around possibly listening to JaserD regale us with tales of great deeds he accomplished playing Strat while not wearing any pants, Lucky could perhaps explain to us all the variables and mathematical probabilites of whether or not if a shortstop took a crap in the woods while no one was around and forgot to wipe would be considered an error?! The possibilities really are endless!!

Seriously though, I figured we could run a live draft for those interested, hand out some shmucky awards that would become the bane of the mantle in your livingroom. Mix in a ballgame maybe?? Or perhaps even run a H2H tourny with a lovely little concept that I'll call the "Mystery Team" format. This would be conducted as follows, teams would be put together randomly, players would then pick a team out of a hat, look over the cards and announce their stadium. This would be followed by an hour break during which time trades could be conducted. It'd be a best of 7 games format, single or possibly double elimination depending on how long we thought it would take and how big the bracket was.

Just some random ideas. SOOOOOOO COME ONE, COME ALL AND VOTE.

They do have conventions over on the ATGII boards once in a while . Its always in Vegas and I think its at the end of this month . It is ATG though . Not recent seasons played.

Maybe we could lure Bernie, Nico, Andrey and the rest of the TSN gang to come over and close out the convention with a smashing musical number... they could dress as the pointer sisters and sing a jaw dropping version of "B-b-b-bernieh and the jets"
