Worst playoff team ever?

Postby honestiago1 » Mon May 01, 2006 12:25 pm

Team was outscored for the year (fewest runs in the league at 727); 37-44 on the road; fewest doubles; fewest homers; second to last in average; dead last in slugging; Clark underperformed; most of my relivers had WHIPS over 1.40; stud pitcher (Soto) was 16-17; Tanana walked over 100;

Positives: Templeton had an MVP-type season; Tibbs was 9-2; Doug Sisk was effective (despite 1.44 WHIP); 269 SB's (but 117 CS, which equates to about +13 runs); good Pena year; 32 HR's from Straw; But really, there were several teams better than this one, that's for sure; can't believe they made it.

Anybody else with the surprise team? Anybody ever take a dead-last offensive team to the series (not that I'm counting on anything, since my pitching isn't dominant)?

I've had 2 teams win 83 games and 1 team win 84 games both lose in the finals.

One of the 83 win teams was a Franchise Team (SF Giants). Team ERA was 4.49 playing in Candlestick and I lost game 7 in the 9th when Mark Davis blew a save.

Leagues are so old that boxscores are lost. :cry:

To the wire

My cruddy team is locked in a 2-2 split semi-finals series. Game five features Soto versus Stieb. I guess I can't ask for a better performance so far. Have to hope Mario can give me 7-8, and Henke can close (and will WClark EVER hit consistently?).

Your record seems off

Your team had some offense, and some decent pitching. Must've been a tough league.

My first championship team (I only have 2 out of 30 teams :oops: ).

Great hitting, dead last in pitching. Pitchers cards way underperformed until playoffs.

Got good pitching and one good inning. Hard to believe.
