Another Ring Fling?

Postby MICHAELEVANS » Fri May 05, 2006 7:44 am

Well, either there is no conspiracy, or its even worse than we thought. Either HAL (or the guys in the basement) doesn't track these threads, or he (they) do, and decided to cover their tracks. Last night, the one WC team clinched the WC by going 1-2. The other team knocked out of first place earlier, recaptured 1st by sweeping, but there are still 2 teams in the division that could take it tonight in the final series, and there are six of us scrapping for the WC slot. Oh, and I had another team clinch its division last night as well. HAL (or the guys) is sure sneaky.... I think I believe the ultra-conspiracy plot -- he (they) read my post and decided to cover his (their) tracks!!!!

Remember, just because you are paranoid doesn't mean someone isn't trying to get you.

I'm not convinced. My team got swept yet again last night. Just 5 days ago I was 24-15 and in control of my division. Today I'm 27-27 four games back. That is a combined record of 3-12 over the last 5 days. The other thing is, I've been losing to teams in my division that I pounded on earlier on. Nothing has changed with my team, so I can't figure it out. :x  :?

I know how you feel. My third team ever, had a record of 76-50, on a pace to win 96 games and had the best record in the league. The last 2 weeks of the season, I went 7-14 one week and 5-10 the last week. I ended up losing the division by 4 and the WC by 2 (to a team in my division). Koufax had won 21 games by game 128, and had 9 starts left. He only won 1 of those games. It still breaks my heart   (he still won the Cy Young award, though  )

Those guys in the basement can be so cruel. As long as they are equal opportunity heart breakers then I guess I can live with it.

I just had to dig up this post again because I just couldn't believe it. I had another team that started 24-15 identical record to the team I mentioned here. This new team just came of a strong 10-8 road stint and I made a post on the league board commenting on how impressed I was, not gloating mind you, just impressed at what my team pulled of even though it was a modest accomplishment. I should have known better. What happened last night? That team came home and subsequently got swept. Thanks again HAL, er guys in the basement, you really know how to tick a fellow off. :x

Guys in the basement -->

My team in Fling V is headed towards 100 losses.

Maybe if I sent some Mt Dew and nachos over I'd turn it around

I guess the mountain dew and doritos haven't made it yet. Ridiculous. For the second time in two straight seasons for me I've had teams identically 24-15. Made a public comment about it and they've both tanked. My most recent team as now gone 2-7 with two sweeps at home after coming of a 10-8 road trip. I just don't get it.

YOU SUCK HAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But somehow I keep coming back for more.
