Puzzled..the Fun of Trading...

One of my favorite things to do is trade. But I've found it harder than ever to get any deals done. :(

Example........

Pre-waiver and I've got the 1st pick. [b:7f823ca0c2]Cobb and Musial [/b:7f823ca0c2]among others are avalable.

I've looked at other teams to see what they need and offered my 1st pick for their 2b. (there's not much on the wire at 2b at this time)

I've looked to get Collins, Morgan or Red Shoendeinst, for Cobb or Musial.....All trade offers were rejected. :(

One owner has the #2 pick, so I understand his response. (He said he'd get one or the other anyway)

Another has Morgan, and it seems the people that draft Lil Joe, really love Lil Joe, so while I don't think he's worth 10 mil in an 80 mil league (he's usually at the bottom of my list) I do understand my offer being turned down.

BUT another owner (someone I have much respect for) has said he's looking for a 1b....I offered Stan Musial for Red Schoendienst. :) and was turned down.

I know I'm just frustrated here.....But man! when a team is looking for a 1b and Stan can't get you Red, pre-waivers..... :( :?

Nev, in all fairness, it depends on who's available. If there were no other 2B's that I wanted, I would have rejected that trade as well (but I'd tell you why :) ). I would rather have, say, Cooper/Murray/Collins/et al. and Red than Musial and White, for example.

Just my €0.02. And at the current exchange rate, that's worth more than your two cents! :P

But you're absolutely right about trading in general. It is hard to manage sometimes with the cap restrictions, and I've had a number of deals not happen because of a few $$, despite both parties really wanting to trade, but trading in general is not common.

Hey , I resemble that remark . I don't like to use Stan at 1B . I would rather have him in LF , which I have Yaz for . Red hits about anywhere , great D , no injury . You also wanted Garber in that deal. I drafted Garber 3rd and Red 4th for a reason . :D I'd take McCormick or Cooper though for Hodges ! :D  :D

It's the 2b quandry.

I have Cobb, Meusel, and Cuyler, along with Stan.
I got Stan with #3 waiver pick

Evers and Concepcion as MI
And Geronimo, who I'm usually happy dropping in the 8 spot, but with my MI at the 6 and 7 spots....

I haven't been able to pull a trade, but I haven't wanted to go for a Cobb or Stan for a single player the caliber of Red.

I'm certain that would be accepted.

LOL.....I know I also asked for Garber and in the 1st offer (for Musial and Klinger) but my last offer was[b:e300e10882] Stan for Red [/b:e300e10882]and you turned me down like I was back in High School. (lol)

I do get the feeling you'd take Cooper or McCormick though. :D :D :D

I just tried a Stan/Meusel/Concepcion for Banks trade.

Any guesses?
