Another Wahoo theme team: Hands of Stone

Inspired by the Asbury Jukes ballad Hearts of Stone, I bring you my team featuring players with relatively high error ratings. Perhaps not the highest possible, but plenty high, I am sure you would agree. Wait a sec while I copy it over.

While you are waiting, perhaps you would like to peruse the results for my Beatles theme team. They were not good. http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/atg2/team/team_other.html?user_id=51847

Inevitably, one of the Fab4 spun off as a solo effort, but the results were even more disappointing. http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/atg2/team/team_other.html?user_id=51853 There seems to be a paucity of middle infielders named George for some reason. I came up with a second base solution with Garth Iorg. If you say G.Iorg...well, I am sure you get the idea.

THe results for the Georges were particularly interesting. Mullen, Mogridge, Munger, Tincup...these are all pitchers that have done ok for me on other teams. The park was relatively neutral. The only explanation for their awfulness seems to be the fielding at the DP combination, which is a startling testiment to the importance of fielding at the middle infield positions for the health and sanity of your pitching staff. And the Winter numbers may constitute the single worst performance I have seen in on line SOM. Breathtakingly bad.

I won only 5 more games with the entire 4, with Dick McAuliffe and his 2 E 11 at 2B. So when someone says that something is "worth Dick" we can now say with scientific certainty that this means 5 extra wins.

Psst....

Think about this a tick......

See if you can find higher error #'s for those position players that have a range of 1, cheaper, would be better, and bolster your SPers, bigger is better....

and, you should have a really good shot at the team ERA record.

All the 1's in the field will get to everything, but boot their fair share of them, leading to many, many UNEARNED runs.......

The only non 1 fielders in the lineup are Doyle and Ruth. And they are Doyle and Ruth, for crissakes. Offensive monsters. I hate to lose them.
